| Objective:The aim of this study is to investigate the optimal size of reconstructed ear and operation time by comparing anthrometric data between the normal auricle and its reconstructed counterpart. Subject:A Total of77patients with grade Ⅲ, unilateral microtia underwent ear reconstruction using soft tissue expander and autogenous rib cartilage framwork was randomly selected into our design. The average age was10,54Patients were male and23were female. The average follow-up was15months.Method:Apply3D laser scan technology to scan, process and construct digital3D model for reconstructed auricle and its normal counterpart. Measured the height and width of the auricle based on the information above. All statistical analysis were performed by using SPSS software.Result:In the group of subject who is less than13, For the reconstructed auricle, The statistic shows that there was a1.04±0.32mm average increase in height which growing numbers account for91.1%patients and0.58±0.82mmaverage increase in width which growing numbers account for75.6%patients. For the normal couterpart,0.95±0.64mm average increase in height which growing numbers account for86.7%patients, and0.23±0.54mm average increase in width which growing numbers account for71.7%patients was observed. In the group of subject who is equal or more than13, For the reconstructed auricle, The statistic shows that there was a0.76±0.59mm average increase in height which growing numbers account for74.2%patients and0.15±0.27mmaverage increase in width which growing numbers account for41.9%patients. For the normal couterpart,0.40±0.48mm average increase in height which growing numbers account for87.1%patients, and0.09±-0.08mm average increase in width which growing numbers account for54.8%patients was observed. Statistic analysis showed that significant difference existed in the height change for both normal and reconstructed auricle, rather the difference in the width for both ones were not significant, average increase in reconstructed auricle. However, In the group of subject who is less than13, There was a0.51±-0.09mm average increase in width of reconstructed auricle. There was a0.28±-0.13mm average increase in width of normal auricle. Significant difference were observed in the width change of the reconstructed auricle and the normal side in this group. When comparing measurements of the reconstructed auricle and the normal side at the time of framework implantation. No Significant difference were observed in the height and width regardless of age. Conclusion:Our finding s indicates that there is an average increase in height for reconstructed auricle in each group. However, Only for the group less than13years old, The increase in width has significant difference. The increasing rate of reconstructed auricle is proportional to its normal counterparts. |
