Objective: By observing the detrusor contraction strength, the InternationalProstate Symptom Score (I-PSS),the assessment of quality of life (QOL),the clinicalsymptoms and other indicators, to assess the clinical effects of Harold combinedQianliean for the impaired detrusor caused by BPH with the Chinese medicine theory. To investigate the mechanism of the drug, thus providing a scientific basis for thefurther application of the drug, to benefit middle-aged male patients suffering fromthe benign prostatic hyperplasia.Methods:60cases with benign prostatic hyperplasia were observed, that all metthe disease diagnosis and the inclusion criteria. According to the order of treatmentand a random number table,60patients were divided into the treatment group with30patients in it(Qianliean combined with the Tamsulosin hydrochloride extended-releasecapsules),and the control group with30cases in it(Tamsulosin hydrochlorideextended-release capsules).Chinese medicine usage: each10grams,3times a day, orally. Western medicine usage:0.2mg/times,1times/d, orally. With4weeks for acourse of treatment. The main indicators were observed as followed: the InternationalProstate Symptom Score (I-PSS), the assessment of quality of life (QOL),the detrusorcontraction strength, the residual urine volume, the maximum flow rate. Thesecondary indicators were observed as followed: the average24h urinary frequency, the average nocturia, the prostate volume and the change of the clinical symptoms. Toassess the changes in clinical symptoms referring to the Ministry of HealthPharmaceutical Affairs Division in2002issued "Chinese medicine clinical researchguidelines" in the "TCM scoring method", to set up the scoring criteria. Efficacy wasevaluated according to PTS symptoms before and after treatment. If there was adversereactions during treatment, it should be detailed records the type, extent, occurrence, treatment measures and so on,and to decide whether or not to terminate theobservation, whether or not to adopt the appropriate measures, in considering thecomplications and concomitant medications, to evaluate the correlation with the testdrug. Results: After4weeks of treatment, the treatment group:14cases markedly(46.67%), effective in11cases (36.67%), ineffective in5cases (16.67%), the totalefficiency of the integrated effect was83.33%,in the treatment group the detrusorcontractility improvement rate was80.00%, symptom improvement rate was86.67%,residual urine volume improvement rate was86.67%, the statistical analyzes werebetter than the control group (P <0.05). I-PSS and QOL score was significantly lowerin both groups (P <0.05), and the treatment group improved significantly comparedwith the control group (P <0.05). Maximum urinary flow rate increased significantlyin both groups, and the treatment group improved significantly compared with thecontrol group (P <0.05).Conclusion:1.Qianliean had a good effect for the BPH detrusor impairedcontractility.2.Qianliean obviously improved the residual urine volume.3. Qianlieansignificantly decreased the IPSS and QOL score.4.Qianliean were Toxic side effects, the role of durable, safe and effective.
