Background and ObjectivesLipid metabolism disorder is the main risk factor for coronary heart disease, inrecently years, a number of large-scale randomized controlled clinical trials haveconfirmed that by statins lipid-lowering therapy, especially in low density lipoproteincholesterol treatment can significantly reduce the mortality of patients at high risk ofcoronary heart disease and major cardiovascular events, at the same time can improvethe prognosis of patients, reduce hospitalization expenses and the necessary of takingblood supply revascularization, is an important measure for prevention and control ofcoronary heart disease (CHD).The safety and importance of clinical application forusing statins in patients with coronary heart disease (CHD) has been widelyconfirmed, therefore, no taboos for license, statins is one of the indispensable secondaryprevention drugs in patients with coronary heart disease.we retrospectively analyzedof2718cases of the use of statins for patients with coronary heart disease (CHD) inzhengzhou city between2011-2012,, and follow-up of201cases, analysis of factorsassociated with statin use and lipid-lowering therapy, provide the basis for reasonableand effective use of lipid-lowering drugs in clinical. Materials and MethodsTo collect the medical records of high—risk patients with CHD in3hospitals(The second affiliated hospital of Zhengzhou University, Henan ProvinceChest Hospital, People’s hospital of Zhengzhou) between2011-2012,and follow uppart of these paients by phone or letter and out-patient clinic service. These data wereanalyzed by statistical package SPSS17.0.Results(1) All screening2,718cases of coronary heart disease in patients withindications for statins. while74.2%of patients screened using statins, Atorvastatinand Rosuvastatin were the most commonly used, and comprised61.2%and27.2%of all patients taking statins respectively.(2)The proportion using statins was higher inpatients with prior myocardiac infarction or those with coronary artery bypassgrafting or Percutaneous coronary artery stent implantation than those withoutthese(76.1%vs69.2%79.4%vs72.6%,and82.4%vs66.7%respectively,P<0.001),Patients with comorbid ischemic stroke were less likely to take statins thanthe others(68.2%vs76.1%P<O.001).(3)There were68.1%patients combineddyslipidemia in the2629cases who had the initial blood lipid record, and85.5%wereusing statins.(4)Among the201patients who were followed up the ratio achievingthe optimal LDL-C goals and that LDL-C was reduced by30%-40%in the lastplasma lipid levels was68.7%and61.7%respectively。Conclusions1Statins were greatly underused in secondary prevention among CHD patientsin Zhengzhou city, there was a large gap between evidence and practice.2The use ofstatin were related to the doctor’s degree of attention to the disease, The initial lipidlevels, patient’s compliance, social economic ststus and other factors.3The ratioachieving the optimal goals still remains a gap between the guidelines.4Long-termlipid-lowering therapy is safely,if the drug use and dosage are appropriate.
