Objective: To observe the difference of post-operative comfort between ropivacaineand bupivacaine on pediatric spinal anesthesia. Methods: Fourty chidren scheduled for lower abdominal operation(ASAⅠ―Ⅱ,aged7to12, weighted20to40kg) were randomly assigned intoropivacaine group(Group R) or bupivacaine group (group B) under spinalanesthesia,20patients in each group. The time of sensory block, block level, motoionblock time were recorded by Bromage scores, the duration of sensory block and motorblock, the cases of nausea and vomiting, back-pain, headache, transient neurologicsymptoms and the time of uncomfortable lower limb were also recorded; VAS andVSS were recorded at0h,0.5h,1h,2h,4h,8h,24h post-operation.Results: The onset time of sensory and motor blockade in group R was longer thanthat of group B(P<0.05),so were the duration of sensory and motor blockade in groupB(P<0.05),but there is no significant difference on the blockade level and the motorblock between two groups (P>0.05).The incidence of nausea and vomiting, lowerlimb numbness duration was significantly less than that of group B(P<0.05).Therewas no significant difference on incidence of back pain, headache, transientneurologic symptoms two groups (P>0.05).The VAS scores of group R was higherthan that of group B2hour post-operation (P<0.05),also,the VSS scores of group Rwas higher in1hour post-operation than that of group B(P<0.05).Conclusions:There was no difference in anesthetic effect between the two groups.but the motor blockade time and the uncomfortable lower limb numbness time ingroup R was significantly shorter than that of group B.
