Objective: The study aims at explore the clinical curative effect of Madoparcombined Fosamax treatment for early non-traumatic osteonecrosis of the femoral head. Methods: Chose71early non-traumatic osteonecrosis of the femoral headpatients(111hips) diagnosed by Department of orthopedics of First Hospital Affiliated toSoochow University from November2009to December2012. Application of Madoparcombined Fosamax treatment.41males(67hips) and30females(44hips) among themwhose ages were between21and71years old with an average of40.32years old;42caseshad history of hormone application,14cases with a history of heavy drinking,2cases bothhad hormone and the history of drinking,13cases of unknown reason; according to Ficatstages:9hips as stage,93hips for stage ē,9hips for stage ē. All patientsadministrate both sides of hips X-ray every3months and MRI examination every6months during the medical treatment, at the same time for hip Ficat stage, necrosis indexdetermination and the hip joint function score. After1years medication, according to theclinical symptoms and X-ray performance, patients symptoms improved and lesionswithout expansion in X-ray, can consider to stop drug and long-term observation. All datafrom study was dealed with SPSS18.0statistical package. The data was presented as Mean±standard deviation. The statistical analysis was carried out with paired design t test.Result: All patients were followed up integrallty. The followed-up time was12~43months, mean21.32months. Most patients symptoms improved, The hip joint functionscore increased from an average of15.62to16.18(P <0.05).60.36%(67/111) femoralheads maintained the original form. Necrosis index reduced from an average of56.34to47.81(P <0.05). The clinical satisfactory rate was70.27%, the success treatment rate was73.87%and the clinical improvement rate was51.35%, the collapse rate was26.13%, and the average collapse time was23.47months. Two hips of one patient underwent theartificial hip joint replacement. Conclusion: Madopar combined Fosamax could effectively interpose the process ofearly non-traumatic osteonecrosis of the femoral head. They promoted the growth of newbone in necrotic zone, accelerated the bone repair, prevented or delayed the collapse.
