| Objective:To research the levels of serum folic acid in chronic renal failure patientsand Analysis the influence on serum folate levels of maintenance dialysis in patientswith hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis. Methods: To estimated the overall folic acid levels in chronic renal failure patientswith observing the folic acid levels of59patients in chronic renal failure; compare theserum folic acid levels between before dialysis and after dialysis of23patients.Compare the serum folic acid levels of23patients in hemodialysis,16patients in continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis,20cases of patients who is not indialysis with25normal people. Results: The levels of folic acid in59patients with chronic renal failure:9.21±4.5ng/ml, vitamin B12levels:650+229pg/ml.Which is lower than normal serumfolate levels were12cases(accounting for20.3%),Normal levels are46cases(78.0%), higher than the normal level is1case (accounting for1.7%). Serum folatelevels lower than normal in hemodialysis Group are6cases(accounting for26.1%ofhemodialysis patients),in normal levels are16cases(accounting for69.7%,),higherthan the normal levels is1case (4.2%). The levels of Serum folate in peritonealdialysis patients which lower than normal are5cases,(accounting for31.2%), innormal levels are11cases (accounting for68.8%), nobody higher than normallevels.Serum folate levels in Without dialysis Group lower than normal levels is1 cases(accounting for5%),in normal level are19cases,(accounting for95%). Whichis lower than the normal control group of normal folate levels0cases,24cases of25normal control group levels are in normal (accounting for96%), higher than thenormal level is1cases(accounting for4%).The levels of folic acid in hemodialysisGroup is9.3±4.1ng/ml, peritoneal dialysis group is8.55±4.3ng/ml, without dialysisGroup is9.5±4.2ng/ml and normal Group is11.1±4.3ng/ml. The incidence of lowserum folate in CRF patients is20.3%,.hemodialysis patients: the incidence ofpatients with low serum folate is26.1%, peritoneal dialysis patients are31.2%,withoutdialysis of patients are5%. The level of average serum folate in patients with chronicrenal failure is significantly lower than that in normal people, and the level hassignificantly differences (p<0.05),.the levels of folic acid in both hemodialysis groupand peritoneal dialysis group are obviously lower than that in normal group, thedifference has statistics meaning (p<0.05). The level of serum folic acid in patientswho without dialysis are lower than that in normal group, they have no statisticsmeaning (p>0.05),peritoneal dialysis group and hemodialysis group have nosignificantly statistics meaning (p>0.05). The level of folic acid level before thedialysis and after the dialysis has significantly differences (p<0.05), peritoneal dialysisgroups and hemodialysis groups has no significant difference when compared to folicacid. The level of folic acid and the level of vitamin B12are positive correlation inpatients with uremia (p<0.05), and hemoglobin, mean corpuscular volume, serum iron, transferrin, uremic nitrogen, albumin, level of blood creatinine are absence ofcorrelation. Conclusions: The levels of average serum folic acid in patients of CRF are lower thanthat in normal people; The levels of serum folic acid levels in patients with inhemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis are lower than that in normal people. The levels ofFolic acid in patients with continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis and withhemodialysis are not significantly different. Hemodialysis can remove folic acid in theblood. The lack of folic acid can increase the degree of anemia in patients with chronicrenal failure. |
