The Clinical Study Of The Traditional Bassini’s, The Mesh Plug Tension-free And The Preperitoneal Space Repair Of Inguinal Herniorrhaphy

Objective: To discuss clinical effects of the Traditional Bassini’s, the Mesh PlugTension-free and the Preperitoneal Space Repair of Inguinal Herniorrhaphy, focus onlong term therapeutic effects, and provide the basis to choose procedures for InguinalHerniorrhaphy in the future.Methods: Retrospective analysis of patients’(with Inguinal Herniorrhaphy) clinicalrecords admitted from2007to2013in First Affiliated Hospital of Dalian MedicalUniversity. According to different procedures, all those patients are divided into threedifferent groups:51in Bassini,62in Rutkow and70in UHS(Ultrapro Hernia System),and many clinical indicators during and after the operation were gathered and compared,including operation time, total expenses, independent walking time, average hospitalstay, short-term operative complications(postoperative wound infection, scrotalhyrocele, urinary retention, haematoma and postoperative pain), and long-termoperative complications(chronic pain, recurrence).Results: The average operation time was (50.80±13.65) minutes in Bassini’s group，(54.84±14.45) minutes in Rutkow’s group and (77.75±16.26) minutes in UHS group,which is significant longer. The average hospital expenses were significantly lower withBassini’s group (5326.55±860.14yuan), while that were8386.19±758.50yuan inRutkow’s group and11624.85±1792.0yuan in UHS group. Also, in Bassini’s group,postoperative chronic pain is higher than other two groups, and independent walkingtime is even much higher than Rutkow’s group and UHS group. Referring to averagehospital stay and other short-term or long-term operative complications, there were nosignificant differences in Statistics.Conclusions: Comparing with the Traditional Bassini’s Inguinal Herniorrhaphy，itshows the advantages of quicker recovery, better postoperative effect and lowerrecurrence rate in the Mesh Plug Tension-free and the Preperitoneal Space Repair ofInguinal Herniorrhaphy. And the latter has more development potential because ofhuman body engineering and anatomical structure mechanics. It should follow theprinciple of "individual" to choose proper procedures for Inguinal Herniorrhaphy,according to characteristics of different procedures and patients.
