ObjectivesBy measuring the articular cartilage Brittberg grade, mankin score, col lagen content and gene bcl-2, p53expression, elaborated the role of Angeli cae Pubescentis and Loranthi Decoction preventing cartilage degeneration in patients with knee osteoarthritis, to provide theoretical basis for the clinical application of Angelicae Pubescentis and Loranthi Decoction.Methods46patients who were suffering from knee osteoarthritis undergoing TK R were collected from the orthopedic department of Zhongshan hospital of TCM, they were randomized divided into three Groups, the experiment groups who were given Angelicae Pubescentis and Loranthi Decoction for preventi on of cartilage degeneration, the control Group who were given Glucosamine capsules and the blank Group who were given nothing. After total knee rep lacement surgery, in advance all the samples taking gross observation, then take the tibial plateau and the medial femoral condyle treatment for pat hological specimens. Collagen content, mankin score, gene bcl-2, gene p53wer e measured by three groups to describe the treatment mechanism of Angelic ae Pubescentis and Loranthi Decoction.ResultsNo significant difference between the three groups of mankin score an d brittberg grade (P>0.05). About collagen content of articular cartilage, the blank group is lower than the control group and the treatment group w aht was statistically significant difference (P<0.05), while the treatment group was significantly higher than the control group(P<0.05). The expres sion of Bcl-2in the treatment group and the control group were higher th an in the blank group(P<0.05), whereas there is no significant statistical significance between the treatment group and the control group(P>0.05).T he expression of p53in the treatment group and the control group were lo wer than in the blank group(P<0.05), whereas there is no significant stati stical significance between the treatment group and the control group(P>0.05).ConclusionBy slowing the loss of cartilage collagen content and promoting the e xpression of antiapoptotic gene bcl-2, inhibiting the expression of pro-ap optotic gene p53, taking the Angelicae Pubescentis and Loranthi Decoction in a short term that can slow down the rate of apoptosis of cartilage, rel ieve symptoms of osteoarthritis, with indications wide, clear efficacy, fewe r side effects, etc, worthy of promotion.
