Objective:By observing the placenta of patients with IL-16expression levels and the relationship between IL-16and TNF-a,IL-4,to explore the possible pathophysiological mechanisms in preeclampsia.There are new ways for the prevention and treatment of hypertensive disorders in pregnancy.Methods:Thirty patients with severe preeclampsia and thirty normal pregnant women as controls were investigated. IL-16mRNA in placental was detected by RT-PCR. Immunohistochemical method was used to detecte the level of IL-16、TNF-α、IL-4protein in placental.Results:1. Levels of IL-16m RNA was significantly higher in preeclampsia group than in the controls (P<0.001);2. Compared with the control group, expression of IL-16, TNF-α was significantly higher in preeclampsia placentas(P<0.05, P<0.01), while IL-4was significantly lower in preeclampsia placentas(P<0.01);3. In the preeclampsia group, there is a positive correlation between IL-16and TNF-a(r=0.415, P<0.05), a negative correlation between IL-16and IL-4(r=-0.515, P<0.05);Conclusion:1.The proinflammatory cytokines of IL-16and TNF-a express highly in preeclampsia placentas,while the antiinflammatory cytokines of IL-4express lowly in preeclampsia placentas.So we indicated that the tansitive inflammatory was in preeclampsia.2. There is a positive correlation between IL-16and TNF-a, a negative correlation between IL-16and IL-4in preeclampsia placentas. IL-16may be through affect the disbalance expression between Thl and Th2cell factor to cause of the development of preeclampsia.
