| AIDS is the biggest public health problem around the world, and the fight against AIDS is related tothe vital interests of the masses, social harmony and stability, economic and social development and thenation’s future. Countries around the world are actively study the treatment of AIDS drugs and exploretreatment methods conforming to the disease AIDS. Today there is still no vaccine to prevent AIDS, nordeveloped effective drugs to cure the disease, but highly active antiviral therapy in patients with AIDS canreduce morbidity and mortality, which is nowadays the most effective treatment method that can greatlyimprove the quality of life of patients and prolong the lives of patients. Low compliance is the primaryfactor affecting AIDS antiretroviral therapy. If the medication compliance of AIDS patients in the course ofantiviral therapy is poor, which results that the treatment effect is not obvious, and the side effects theyproduce will make physical condition more weakness than before, or even make patients give up acceptingantiretroviral therapy. Moreover, because of limited anti-viral therapy medicinal resources, once a largearea of drug reaction occurs, there will be no alternative to drug treatment programs, Therefore, whatmeans to improve patient medication compliance become the core of today’s anti-viral therapy work.Henan is one of the areas worst AIDS epidemics, and antiretroviral therapy for AIDS patients has beenextensively spread since2003. However, the number of AIDS patients in Henan Province is numerous, andpatients are mostly in the vast rural areas, lack of education, mainly rely on rural doctors and villagedoctors who can provide anti-viral treatment for the AIDS patients. Given the large population of AIDS,however, the decreasing number of rural doctors and heavy tasks of rural doctors make it difficult tomanage AIDS patients; while antiretroviral therapy itself is a long, complicated process, if you do notstrengthen the AIDS patients management, it will lead to poor treatment compliance and even seriousconsequences to fail treatment of AIDS patients to exacerbated the plight of antiretroviral therapy. To solvethese problems, experts proposed the establishment of AIDS patients’ antiretroviral therapy medicationsupervision custom model in Henan. Establishment of Supervisors solves the problems that lack of ruraldoctors and inadequate management, and Supervisors manage patients and compliance education in thecourse of the medication to improve medication compliance. Even though this management model are carried out in some provinces and cities in the country, it is not clearly presented in the work ofantiretroviral therapy in the country, and scholars have questioned whether the establishment of Supervisorscan improve medication compliance and the management of AIDS patients, whether there is enoughresponsibility, whether can replace the role of rural medicine.A county is a relatively well-known local epidemic in Henan Province, and more than95%of AIDSpatients distribute in vast rural areas and lack of rural doctors team seriously, A county CDC began to set upthe medication Supervisors system according to the actual situation in July2012, so A county has greatrepresentation as an research example. The author had followed up Supervisors and AIDS patients in ACounty of Henan Province for a period of1year in July2012, including compliance testing andCD+4lymphocytes detection; and conducted a questionnaire survey about the quality of life of AIDSpatients in June2013. The results of follow-up and survey showed that AIDS patient compliance whichaccepted Supervisors intervention is significantly higher than it which did not accept Supervisorsintervention and that laboratory indicators of CD+4lymphocytes increased significantly and that the effectof antiretroviral therapy significantly improved, which can explain that the Supervisors system can improvemedication compliance of AIDS patients and the quality of life of AIDS patient and prolong patientsurvival duration. This model is applicable to those areas where AIDS patients are relatively concentratedand has great promotional value in the national anti-viral therapy because of less investment, effective andsimple. In this paper, the author focuses on the antiviral therapy supervisor system and put forward my ownviews about the positioning of supervisors, job responsibilities, the principles which should be followed inwork, work processes and work methods and so on in antiviral therapy. The author also determines thefeasibility of this management model by fieldwork to a County of Henan Province. Such managementmodel is applicable to those areas where AIDS patients are relatively concentrated to reach into a small,high-performance result. The establishment of medication supervisors is simple and effective, and has greatpromotional value to antiviral therapy work in other parts of the country. |
