Comorbidity of Methamphetamine Dependence and Personality Disorders in ChinaObjective:To investigate the prevalence of comorbidity of methamphetamine dependence and personality disorders in China.Methods:Cross-section study and face-to-face individual interview were conducted. Subjects were541methamphetamine dependent patients who were consecutively admitted into two compulsory drug rehabilitation centers in Hunan province of China, from March10,2013to October30,2013. Case report form was developed to collect demographic and drug use related information of the subjects. Structured Clinical Interview for DSM-â…£-TR Axis â…  Disorders-Patient Edition (SCID-I/P) and Structured Clinical Interview for DSM-â…£-TR Axis â…¡ personality Disorders (SCID-â…¡) were used for DSM-â…£ axis â…  and axis â…¡ diagnoses.Results:74.1%of patients with methamphetamine dependence patients had comorbidity of personality disorders. The most frequent personality disorders among the patients are those in Cluster B in DSM-IV, reaching66.5%. The most common personality diagnosis was antisocial personality disorder with the prevalence of61.2%. Borderline personality disorder was the second common diagnosis among the sample, with the percentage of19.5%.Conclusions:The comorbidity of methamphetamine dependence and personality disorders has high prevalent percentage, so that more attention should be paid to the diagnosis and treatment.
