Objective taking targeted behavioral intervention strategies forpregnant women at different stages of behavior change based onTranstheoretical Model of Change(TTM),to explore the effect of thebehavior interventions and then improve clinical quality of maternal weightmanagement. Methods To Collect60cases of obese pregnant women in the clinicand number sequentially in the order of1to60.Odd and even are dividedinto the intervention group and the control group respectively. After thebaseline assessme nt, the intervention group are controlled weight gain bymidwives based on periodic behavior intervention strategies, and the controlgroup carry out weight management in accordance with conventional healtheducation provided by midwives. To compare the difference between the twogroups in their stage and process of behavior change at four differentgestational stages.In26weeks of pregnancy,we also compare the differenceof the frequency of communication with midwives between the interventionand control group. Results:1.The baseline results showed that the majority of obesity pregnantwomen (93%) were in the Pre-contemplation/Contemplation/Preparationstage; But fewer obesity pregnant women were in Action/Maintenancestage.2. Analysis of post-intervention: to compare the difference between thetwo groups in their stage and process of behavior change at four differentgestational stages. It showed that there was no statistical difference(P>0.05)at the baseline assessment between the two groups. But thepost-intervention results showed that there was statistical difference(p<0.05)between the two groups in their stage and process of behavior change atother three gestational stages.3.There is a significant statistical difference (p<0.01)between theintervention and control group in their frequency of communication withmidwives.Conclusion:1.Targeted behavioral intervention strategies based on TTM advancedthe obesity pregnant women’S stages of change; improved the processes ofweight gain toward a beneficial direction.2.We need further studies to verify effect of TTM on BMI.3.The intervention based on TTM promoted the communicationsituation between obesity pregnant women and midwives, improve thecontinuity of care during pregnancy.
