Object To evaluate the bone cement leakage with gelatin spongepre-injection during percutaneous vertebroplasty (PVP) operation, withexsomatize vertebral bodyies as experimental subjects.Method We selected thoracolumbar samples from elderly femalecorpse to make compression fractures model, randomized low viscosityborn cement group (Group A) and gelatin sponge pre-injection+lowviscosity group (Group B), then measured the born cement dynamicviscosity at19℃, imitated PVP operation method on the isolatedspecimens at four time points of3,6,9,12min after the bone cementreconciliation, separately injected5ml born cement at a slow constantspeed, respectively measured the born cement leakage rate and leakagequantity of each group.Result low viscosity born cement’s viscosity will increase with thetime, while adding gelatin sponge have a great impact on the viscosity, atthe same time point after5minutes, the viscosity of born cement viscosityin group B is higher than group A, with statistical significance different(P <0.0001). the time point of9min after cement mixing is appropriate, theleakage quantity of group B is significantly less than group A(P=0.0347).Conclusion the traditional method of combining low viscosity of borncement with gelatin sponge pre-injection can obviously decreasepercolation rate and percolation quantity of the bone cement, it is moreeconomical, easy to operate, having a good prospect of clinical promotion.
