Objective:To analyze the correlation of BRCAI/2gene promoter methylation status between sporadic breast cancer and hereditary breast cancer in Xinjiang Uygur patients. Methods:We selected30cases of Uygur sporadic breast cancer patients with modified radical mastectomy from Xinjiang Medical University Cancer Hospital Breast Surgical, took cancer tissues and adjacent tissues as the sporadic breast cancer group and pericarcinoma group,8cases of Uighur benign breast tumors as benign group,23cases of Uygur hereditary breast cancer specimens which were not found BRCA1/2gene mutation as hereditary breast cancer group. These specimens were used methylation-specific PCR (MSP) to detect BRCA1/2gene methylation status. The clinical and pathological data of30cases of sporadic breast cancer was collected. Results:In the Uygur patients, the difference between BRCA1and BRCA2methylation rate in sporadic breast cancer tissues was statistically significant (P=0.038), the difference in BRCA1methylation rate between sporadic breast cancer group and pericarcinoma group was statistically significant (P=0.038). Sporadic breast cancer in BRCA1methylation rates between lymph node metastasis and without lymph node metastasis group, the difference was statistically significant (P=0.032). Sporadic breast cancer BRCA1/2methylation rate between the number of live births<2times and>2, the difference was not statistically significant (P=0.024). Between Sporadic breast cancer BRCAI/2methylation and unmethylaion patients, clinicopathological features and clinical physiological characteristics, the difference was not statistically significant (P>0.05). Conclusion:In Xinjiang Uygur breast cancer patients,BRCA1gene methylation is closely related to sporadic breast cancer, BRCA gene methylation may be a common pathogenesis in both sporadic breast cancer and hereditary breast cancer in which BRCA gene mutation was not found.
