ObjectiveTo explore the Effect of combined exposure to chromium and vanadium onthe liver and blood glucose(Glu) of the mice and the accumulation ofchromium.MethodsA total of70clean and healthy male Kunming mice aged6-8weeks wererandomly divided into seven groups:the control group (distilled water),thepotassium dichromate exposure groups with different dose of1.71(1/100LD50),3.42(1/50LD50),17.10(1/10LD50)mg/kg, and combined action groups with(1.71+0.90),(3.42+0.90),(17.10+0.90)mg/kg exposure to potassiumdichromate and ammonium metavanadate,10in each group. All groups wastreated by gavage for30consecutive days.After the exposure was finished,thecontent of ALT,AST activityd and Glu and chromium were tested.ResultsCompared with the control group,The levels of ALT activity in chromiumexposure group(3.42、17.10mg/kg) and the same dose of combined exposuregroup were higher;AST activity were higher in chromium exposure group andcombined exposure group;The levels of Glu in17.10mg/kg chromium exposuregroup and the same dose of combined exposure group were lower(P<0.05).Compared with potassium dichromate group alone,ALT activity incombined action groups with(3.42+0.90),(17.10+0.90) mg/kg exposure to potassium dichromate and ammonium metavanadate were higher;AST activitywere higher in combined exposure group(P<0.05).As the dose of potassiumdichromate increased,the levels of AST,ALT activity increased,the levels of Gludecreased. When the exposure dose of17.10mg/kg, the chromium content ofliver was significantly increased.ConclusionCombined exposure to chromium and vanadium could cause joint toxicityand increase the activity of AST,ALT and decrease the content of Glu,chromium have certain accumulation effect in mice liver.
