Uterine fibroids are the most common benign tumors of the femalereproductive system. The prevalence of uterine fibroids is generally reportedas20%to40%among reproductive age women, and the age are mostfrequently seen during30-50years old. Abnormal uterine bleeding, pelvicpressure symptoms, pain are often seen in these patients, and sometimes thefibroids can affect fertility. Menorrhagia is the most common symptom inpatients with uterine fibroids. The main purpose of clinical treatment is torelieve the clinical symptoms, improve quality of life and reduce thepsychological burden of patients. High intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU)treatment as a new way for the treatment of uterine fibroids, its safety andeffectiveness has been confirmed by a large number of preliminary clinicalresearch. But the curative effect of anemia caused by menorrhagia due touterine fibroids and its related influencing factors for HIFU treatment stillneed to be more specific and in-depth study and discussion, in order to improve the clinical curative effect ulteriorly and provide a reference forinstituting clinical treatment plan.Objective1.Analysis the overall improvement of the symptoms caused by uterinefibroids after HIFU treatment, and quantitative evaluate the curative effectof anemia caused by menorrhagia due to uterine fibroids after HIFUtreatment.2.Preliminarily research the affecting factors of HIFU treatment on theimprovement of anemia caused by menorrhagia due to uterine fibroids.MethodsIn this research there are75patients from the First affiliated hospital ofchongqing medical university during January2011and January2012,whowere diagnosised with solitary uterine fibroids and accepted HIFU treatment.A retrospective analysis of their clinical symptom score, the result of bloodroutine examination and pelvic MRI examination before HIFU treatmentand at the sixth month after the treatment, and the result of pelvic MRIexamination after the treatment within24hours, has been made in thisresearch. By comparing the symptom scores and the relevant examinationresults before the treatment with that after the treatment, to evaluate theoverall improvement of the clinical symptoms caused by uterine fibroidsafter HIFU treatment and explore the related factors. Results 1.There are75cases of uterine fibroids accepted HIFU treatment in thisresearch, the average ablation rate is82%(73%-93%),and there are61caseswith ablation rate more than70%, accounting for81.33%.2.The relief rate of the clinical symptoms caused by uterine fibroids is86.67%after HIFU treatment, and the average clinical symptoms score afterHIFU treatment is31.3%less than that before.3.The hemoglobin has an average rise of22g/L after HIFU treatment, and the total effective rate is85.4%.4. The improvement of hemoglobin after HIFU treatment is positivelycorrelated with ablation rate, and the quantitative relationship between themis ‘Y=-11.767+41.46X’(Y=the improvement of hemoglobin afterultrasonic ablation, X=ablation rate).Conclusions1.HIFU treatment can effectively improve the clinical symptoms ofuterine fibroids.2.The improvement of the anemia caused by menorrhagia due to uterinefibroids after HIFU treatment is significant.3.Ablation rate has a certain influence on the improvement the anemiacaused by menorrhagia due to uterine fibroids, and the result demonstratesthat the more the ablation rate is, the improvement of the anemia caused bymenorrhagia due to uterine fibroids after HIFU treatment is more significant.
