Analysis Of Cancer Morbidity And Mortality In Deqing County,Zhejiang Province Between2006and2009 | | Posted on:2012-09-04 | Degree:Master | Type:Thesis | | Country:China | Candidate:J G Song | Full Text:PDF | | GTID:2284330434972928 | Subject:Public health | | Abstract/Summary: | PDF Full Text Request | | Objective:By analyzing the surveillance data of malignant tumor in DeQing residents in2006-2009, describe incidence, distribution and variation of malignant tumor, provide evidence for further observation of long-term trends and influential factors of the disease burden of malignant tumor, and also offer information about evaluating the effects of intervention of malignant tumor. Methods:All incidence data and mortality data of malignant tumor, which were recruited from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention of DeQing and encoded by ICD-10, were entered and seted up into a database meanwhile. And then conducted the statistical analysis by SPSS13.0.Results:1. During2006-2009in DeQing, there were2802incident cases of malignant tumor, with the crude incidence rate of164.43per100,000and the bid rate of132.87per100,000. And there were2493deaths of malignant tumor, with the crude mortality of146.3per100,000and the bid rate of112.37per100,000.2. In the four years in DeQing, the top five tumors in incidence rate were lung cancer, gastric cancer, intestinal cancer, liver cancer and breast cancer, which accounted for61.23%of the total incidence cases. And the five leading tumors in mortality rate maked up75.14%of the total deaths, that were, lung cancer, liver cancer, gastric cancer, intestinal cancer and esophageal cancer.3. Males in DeQing had higher rates of incidence and death than females with the gender ratio1:0.74and1:0.55respectively.4. Breast cancer and cervical cancer, with a high incidence rate in DeQing, respectively ranked the first and fifth position in incidence and holded the fifth and sixth place in mortality of female malignant tumor.5. Lung cancer and liver cancer were the top two cancers in standardized rate of years of life lost in DeQing, which accounted for3.17%o and2.91‰, leaded to a lost of12.17and16.64years respectively.6. Malignant tumor incidence in the western mountains was higher than the canal water systems and the Tiaoxi in which gastric cancer, intestinal cancer and the female breast cancer were significantly higher. Conclusions: 1. Since the malignant tumor incidence and mortality in DeQing had almost reached to developed cities, as well as the alarming rise of death rate, the prevention and control of cancer should be strengthened in this country.2. The priorities are lung cancer, gastric cancer, liver cancer, intestinal cancer and breast cancer. Pertinent measures are required on the grounds of risk factors that related to these kinds of cancers.3. In order to strengthen the prevention and control of breast cancer cervical cancer in females, early diagnosis and early administration of these cancers can be carried out in this region.4. Because of the increasing tumor incidence beyond35, detection for tumors like lung cancer, gastric cancer, liver cancer, intestinal cancer can be strengthened over the age of35.5. The incidence and mortality of lung cancer were the highest in males. And at the same time the incidence of lung cancer was the highest in females. Thus, publicity for the risk factors of lung cancer, especially smoking which is harmful to our health, should be strengthened. Also, health promotion project should be conducted in the whole population.6. A possible reason for the high incidence of gastrointestinal tumor such as gastric cancer in the western mountains of DeQing may be related to these residents’ preference for preserved food, suggesting that knowledge of gastric cancer prevention and control, such as have more fresh food and less preserved food, should be publicized to them.Policy Recommendations:1. Continuously strengthen monitoring on malignant tumor.2. Enhance utilization of monitoring information about malignant tumor.3. Conduct three levels of prevention of malignant tumor comprehensively. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | malignant tumor, incidence, standardized incidence, mortality, standardized mortality, DeQing | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
