| ObjectiveThis study compared the clinical efficacy and patients’ satisfaction withimplant-supported overdenture and implant fixed denture in edentulous patients, to provideguidence for dentists.MethodsThe clinical observations of37edentulous patients restored by ITI, Zimmer, osstem andother implant systems for one year. Adopt the clinical examination, X-ray observations andthe patients’ subjective ratings, to evaluate the success rate of osseointegration betweenimplants and bone tissues, the usage of restoration, bone resorption around the implant, andsatisfaction survey after implant treatment.ResultsNinty two implants of implant-support overdenture group (group A) and141implants ofimplant-supported fixed prostheses group (group B) have formed a good osseointegrationwith healthy periodontal tissue, no significant bone resorption around the implant, Successrate of prosthesis in group A and group B is96.89%and98.03%respectly. There are noobvious differences in chewing, retention, comfort and pronunciation aspects, but obviousdifferences in convenience and aesthetics between group A and B.ConclusionImplant denture treatment for37edentulous patients clinical efficacy comparative study,the following conclusions:1. Implant-support overdenture and implant-supported fixed denture in edentulouspatients have the high success rate in the short term.2. Implant-support overdenture and implant-supported fixed denture in edentulouspatients implalnts soft tissue have a good health in the short term.3. Implant-support overdenture in edentulous patients overall satisfaction and beautifulis significantly better than the fixed denture.4. Implant-supported fixed denture in edentulous patients convenience satisfaction was significantly better than Implant-support overdenture. The dentist need to communicate withedentulous patients carefully combined with implant-support overdenture andimplant-supported fixed denture characteristics guide patients to select the appropriateimplant treatment. |
