Abnormal hemodynamic characteristics are considered as the main reason ofvascular disease. Therefore, hemodynamic research has a good future in clinic, especially at surgical planning, predictive medicine and pathological analysis.Based on computational fluid dynamics(CFD) method, hemodynamiccharacteristics of critical areas can be acquired. However, the physiological boundaryconditions are more difficult to obtain, and also the relationship betweenthree-dimensional(3D) model and cardiovascular system is not clear. In order to meetthe requirement of the clinical, some researches try to couple3D model and lumpedparameter model(LPM,0D) based on multi-scale method. Currently, research aboutmulti-scale method is in the development stage. This research mainly focuses on multi-scale method and the interface betweencommercial numerical simulation software and LPM model. Finally, try to solveclinical issues by multi-scale method. The research contents include as following:(1) Establish3D and0D model forcentre shunt(CS) surgery. Also, boundary conditions are predicted by0D model andmulti-scale calculate is completed.(2) Investigate the influence of variousanastomotic structures and the direction of superior vena cava (SVC) in Glenn onhemodynamics, try to find an optimal structure of SVC in Glenn surgery withunilateral pulmonary artery stenosis.(3) Clinical dates are obtained from a patientwho got coarctation of the aorta(COA). The patient’s hemodynamic characteristics arepredicted by multi-scale method. Verify the calculation process by comparing theresult with clinical data. The results prove that:(1) When LPM is satisfy the physiological characteristics, boundary conditions can be predicted. While according to clinical data, multi-scalecalculate is more precise.(2) When care about the patients who have Hypoplastic leftheart syndrome (HLHS) with unilateral pulmonary artery stenosis, it is benefited thatsurgeons add patches at junction of the SVC toward stenosis at pulmonary artery.(3)The patient’s hemodynamic characteristics can be predicted by multi-scale method. To sum up, this paper attempts several coupling methods between lumpparameter models and3D models. Also, try to solve clinical issues, such as Glennsurgery planning, parameter prediction for patient with COA, and so on. This research is foundation for development and application of CFD.
