In Chinese Pharmacopoeia(2010) record three source of Arisaematis Rhizoma, arebelonged to Araceae family. The property and flavor of Arisaematis is documented to be“acrid, warm and toxic”.That means crude drugs have intensive acridity and toxicity, causingswelling of the lips, mouth and throat, aphonia, salivation, convulsion, and even death fromsuffocation. So processed product of Arisaematis is often used in clinical medication. Thistopic consider that steep and decoction maybe make effects on the ingredient of Arisaematiswhen it was processed, then the clinical effects and toxicity was changed. In this paper, onthe basis of identify three different source of Arisaematis,we analyse the change of Totalflavonoids and total saponins, total alkaloids, Schaftoside, trigonelline. At the sametime, study the different of Sedative and analgesic, anti convulsion effect after processed, tostudy how the processed affect the chemical and effcets.Using macroscopical identification can distinguish different sources of ArisaematisRhizoma from the exterior shape:comparison with its size,Arisaema erubescens>Arisaemaheterophyllum>Arisaema amurense;comparison with its color:Arisaema erubescens wasbrown,Arisaema heterophyllum and Arisaema amurense was yellowish white.comparisonwith its lateral bud:Arisaema erubescens didn’t have lateral bud,the number of lateral budin Arisaema heterophyllum were more then Arisaema amurense, and Arisaemaheterophyllum’s was much more bigger.Only the content of flavonoids in Arisaematis Rhizoma can reached the standard ofpharmacopoeia, the rest of the Arisaematis failed to meet the requirements ofpharmacopoeia, It maybe be the diffenrent in processing time. The Content of Flavonoid isgradually reduced with the processing. The total saponins of three kinds of Arisaematis Rhizoma were similar,of which thehighest content of total saponins is Arisaematis Rhizoma. The rest of Arisaematis Rhizomawere take the second place; The decline of total saponins is not obvious afterprocessing, some batches of processed product had a tendency to rise instead, may be thejoining of ginger influence on the content of saponins. The total alkaloid’s level of Arisaematis Rhizoma which were come from Differentsource were shows as follows:Arisaema erubescens>Arisaema amurense>Arisaemaheterophyllum;Steep make an major effects on the change of total alkaloid,However furtherdecrease of content is not obvious in the decoction.Through determination of Schaftoside content in Arisaematis Rhizoma, the contentlevel showed as follow:Arisaema erubescens>Arisaema heterophyllum>Arisaemaamurense. The content of Schaftoside was decreased after Process inordinately, but thecontent is still in the linear range. Also the content of different source of ArisaematisRhizoma were different obviously. The trigonelline content in different source of Arisaematis Rhizoma were list asfollows:Arisaema heterophyllum>Arisaema amurense>Arisaema erubescens.Processinginfluenced its content greatly, result in some of batch can’t detect the trigonelline.Through observing the effects of on the laboratory animal of model behavior activityby feed drugs. And observe its effect to central inhibition. The result was that both raw andprocessed Arisaematis Rhizoma can reduce the locomotor activity on micesignificantly(P<0.05),and its processed products were similar to the raw (P>0.05).In the analgesic experiments, both row and processed Arisaematis show betteranalgesic effect. In the anti-convulsion test, row Arisaematis had more better anti-convulsioneffect.Toxicity study show that the toxicity of Arisaematis Rhizoma may come from thecyanogenic glycosides in the plant, and the raphides which was reported by literature didn’thave toxicity.
