Objective Procalcitonin(PCT) is generated by thyroid C cells, and in normal times its value is low, but in the case of pathological,PCT is generated mainly by other organization, such as lung, liver, muscle, etc, its value increases when body is infected with bacteria, especially in sepsis.Hypersensitive c-reactive protein(Hs- CRP) is mainly synthesized by liver, it is a kind of non-specific acute phase reaction proteins, and articipate a numerber of pathologicai physiological reaction in the body. Nomally,CRP congcentration in serum is extremelly low,but its serum value will rise rapidly when the body is infected, and drops rapidly after the infection was controlled. This paper mainly discusses the clinical value of serum PCT and hs-CRP in the acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary(AECOPD).Method Choose 78 cases of AECOPD patients hospitalized in our hospital(February 2013- February 2014 in anhui medical university affiliated fuyang clinical college AECOPD patients hospitalized with respiratory medicine) and 34 cases of outpatient follow-up of patients with stable chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD), AECOPD patients were measured serum PCT and hs- CRP levels before and 10 days of admitted to hospital,as well as the stable patient’s serum PCT, hs-CRP levels. Assese the condition change of AECOPD patients separately before and after treatment with COPD assessment test scoring system(CAT),and then make correlation analysis with the change of serum PCT and hs- CRP value.Result The serum PCT,hs-CRP concentration(mean 1.07 + /- 0.70, 0.70 + /-1.34, respectively) of AECOPD patients before treatment were higher than those after treatment(mean 0.30 + /- 0.19, 0.19 + /- 1.21, respectively) and stability of patients(mean 0.28 + /- 0.15, 0.15 + /- 0.31, respectively), and its diagnosis positive rate is higher, 80.8%, 75.6% respectively. After treatment in patients with AECOPD, there is a significant correlation respectively between the serum PCT, hs- CRP and CAT score changes of the patients(correlation coefficients were 0.88, 0.88).Conclusion Serum PCT and hs – CRP is a sensitive index for the diagnosis of AECOPD, and has a important value to evaluate condition change of AECOPD patients before and after treatment..Therefore, the combined detection of serum PCT and hs – CRP on AECOPD patients has important clinical significance.
