Objective:In this retrospective study, we investigate the relationship between TSH and intima-media thickness(IMT) through clinical analysis of healthy persons in normal different TSH level.Materials and Methods:We collected 473 patients from physical examination department of the first affiliated hospital of guangxi medical university between January 2014 and April 2015, and 285 of them were healthy persons,188 of them were overweight(BMI>24kg/m2). Block method:The healthy persons are divided into two groups in order to find out the critical value that IMT from each groups have a significant discrepancy. The people are divided into groups 1 and groups 2 depend on the critical value, them we try to get through to the difference of sex, age, smoking, BMI, blood pressure, blood glucose, glycated hemoglobins and lipid between them. Then explore the relationship between IMT and TSH through multiple-factor analysis. The data of normal people and excess weight are analyzed single factor correlation analysis, partial correlation analysis.Result:The level of apoA I and IMT in the group 2(TSH>2.60mIU/L) are greater than the group 1(TSH<2.60mIU/L) within the healthy persons(P=0.046). There were positive associations between IMT and age(P=0.016), BMI(P< 0.001), TC(P< 0.001), LDL-C(P< 0.001). IMT level of male was greater than female, as well as smoking one greater than non-smoking. In the persons whose BMI≥24kg/m2, we found normal TSH level may be a risk factor after sex, age, smoking, BMI, TC, LDL-C, apoB were controlled in the partial correlation(P=0.031).Conclusion:In our study, the TMT and apoA I of groups2(TSH≥2.6) are greater than groupsl(TSH<2.6) reminder that healthy people high normal TSH values associated with carotid intima-media thickness, may be one of a risk factor of atherosclerosis; age, sex, BMI, smoking, TC, LDL-C, apoB are risk factors of atherosclerosis; in the patients whose BMI>24kg/m2, TSH may be a risk factor in overweight subjects even though the factors of sex, smoking, age, BMI, TC, LDL-C, apoB had been excluded.
