Background: Coronary heart disease(CHD), whose impact factors is co mplex, is seriously harmful for human health. The morbidity of CHD is increasing year by year and has obvious differences between regions. Chen gdu is located in the southwest, whose morbidity is still lower, whether it s unique diet habits and lifestyle was related, or are there any unknown pr otective factors of CHD? The result we can make nothing of it. Maked trac ks for in domestic researches about CHD in recent years, fewer data about CHD in Sichuan Chengdu region was found. Considering to Chengdu is based on the taste of "Ma" which is extracted from Zanthoxylum Bungea num Maxim. Recorded in these literatures the volatile oil extracted from Zanthoxylum Bungeanum Maxim has the function of reducing the blood l ipid, anti-oxidation, anti-platelet, anti thrombosis and the protection of indu cing myocardial injury on stress. So we constructed the database of Chengd u of coronary heart disease to study on the correlation of Zanthoxylum B ungeanum Maxim and coronary heart disease, mainly investigated the diet factors like Zanthoxylum Bungeanum Maxim and the collected relevant dat a. Objective: We carry out this research to study the prevalence of CHD in Chengdu, to study the impact factors related to coronary heart disease i n Chengdu, especially to analysis the effect of diet factors; The research mainly analysis the role of Zanthoxylum Bungeanum Maxim in CHD, to pro vide a theoretical basis for the prevention and treatment of CHD for our next basic research to verify the atherosclerosis role of Zanthoxylum Bu ngeanum Maxim to offer clinical theoretical support. Methods: We accept the inpatients who accepted coronary angiography(CAG) in Cardiology Department of Chengdu NO.3 people hospital, conducted a case-control st udy. The definition of the coronary heart disease group is the result of cor onary angiography suggested at least one major vascular stenosis greater tha n or equal to 50%; diagnosed angina, diagnosed myocardial infarction, hist ory of percutaneous coronary intervention and coronary artery bypass grafti ng, the one with the above conditions. The definition of the control group Is non CHD according to CAG. We entry the data by the way the resea rch professional crew to ask patients. Finally we had surveyed 958(male, N=430, female N=528) patients who accepted coronary CAG and collecte d their information included diseases history data, common risk factors of CHD, the level of Zanthoxylum Bungeanum Maxim eating and coronary an giography results. Then we sorted out the collected data for statistical anal ysis, deleted those incomplete data, Finally, 527(male, N=239, female N=288)patients were taken in research. Firstly, the baseline data were compar ed in CHD group and non CHD group and in different level of Zanthox ylum Bungeanum Maxim. Secondly, the common risk factors were analyze d signally, including whether Zanthoxylum Bungeanum Maxim diet, whether hot pot diet, whether high salt diet. Thirdly, analysis if Zanthoxylum Bungeanum Maxim has protective effects on the incidence of CHD by m ultiple logistic regressions. Finally, analysis of the relationship between Z anthoxylum Bungeanum Maxim and the level of stenos is of coronary art ery by multiple linear regressions. Result: 1. In the investigation of the crowds, The measurement data were analysed by One-Way ANOVA, such as age, body mass index, triglyceride, cholesterol, low density lipoprotei n, high density lipoprotein, serum creatinine, uric acid, albumin, total bilirub in, indicating P>0.05, homogeneity of variance, there were no significant dif ference in CHD group and non CHD group. Count data were analysed b y chi square test of two independent samples, gender, hypertension, smoking, staying up late, sleep, physical exercise, indicating P>0.05, shows no signi ficant difference between the baseline between the two groups. The CHD with diabetes mellitus group was significantly higher than non-coronary h eart disease group(X2 =37.294, P=0.000). Zanthoxylum Bungeanum Maxim, alcohol drinking and more Hot pot eating gradually reducing the prevalen ce of coronary heart disease group; 2. In multiple logistic regression show ed that, diabetes mellitus and Zanthoxylum Bungeanum Maxim diet were associated with CHD(P<0.05). The OR of diabetes mellitus is 8.089, wh ich prompted diabetes mellitus may be risk factor for CHD. While, regul ar Zanthoxylum Bungeanum Maxim diet and always Zanthoxylum Bungea num Maxim diet were significantly associated with CHD(P=0.000), OR<1, 95% CI=0.001~0.021, which prompted Zanthoxylum Bungeanum Maxi m was a protective factor of CHD. 3. In the multiple linear regressions, we analyzed the relationship between Zanthoxylum Bungeanum Maxim an d coronary artery score: showed that they were associated(P=0.000). Co nclusion: 1. In the investigated patients, Zanthoxylum Bungeanum Maxim diet which were associated with the incidence of CHD, may be the prot ective factor of CHD; 2. The Zanthoxylum Bungeanum Maxim diet may be associated with the severity of coronary artery stenosis in patients wit h coronary heart disease; 3. This experiment is a case control study, the results of the study still need a large sample of prospective studies confi rmed.
