Objecti veObserve the patient’s immune function after they got a spinal surgery to research whether the acupuncture anesthesia can improve the immune function and reduce postoperative infection rates. By which we can try to evaluate the impact of transcutanclus electrical acupoint stimulation assisted-anesthesia on spinal surgery on clinical outcomes.MethodsThis is a randomized controlled clinical trial. Subjects were all from Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, First Affiliated Hospital who were given a posterior lumbosacral spine surgery.50 patients who met the criteria were randomly divided into two groups, the control group: general anesthesia group and the experimental group:acupuncture-assisted anesthesia group. All of them have the same procedure to get induction and maintain of general anesthesia. Patients in acupuncture-assisted anesthesia group were selected bilateral Zusanli, bilateral Sanyinjiao to give transcutanclus electrical acupoint stimulation (TEAS) 30 minutes before induction of anesthesia and perioperative continuous stimulation; bilateral Neiguan and bilateral Taichong were selected to give 30 minutes electrical stimulation 3 days postoperative. During the four-day period in each case study, both groups were gathered basic information in the preoperative visit and following three consecutive days of observation and patient body temperature, VAS pain scores and other clinical data recorded during surgery; the experimental group were collected before surgery, intraoperative. After the first day, and after the third day’s temperature, white blood cell count, neutrophil percentage of cells, such as monocytes percentage; before induction of anesthesia, surgery for an hour and the first day of the third day after acupuncture treatment Blood samples were analyzed by flow cytometry lymphocyte subsets and NK cells, before and after transcutanclus electrical acupoint stimulation treatment in patients with clinical outcomes during the observation period and immune function by comparing two groups of patients, explore the effect of acupuncture assisted-anesthesia on patients and clinical outcomes comfort and immune function. After the data were collected, SPSS19.0 statistical software was used for analysis, normally distributed measurement data between groups were compared using independent t test to compare the different observation and testing time when trends between groups using repeated measures analysis of variance. Test level a=0.05, two-sided test. Results48 patients are in this study. Due to inability to tolerate electrical stimulation, there are two patients have been removed from the termination of the experiment. There is no statistically significant difference by using independent t test to test their preoperative basic information. After the treatment of transcutaneous electrical stimulation, the experimental group of patients diastolic blood pressure levels were stable (P<0.01) than the control group; surgery patients in the experimental group recovery time is shorter than the control group (P<0.05);Two groups of patients after T lymphocyte subsets CD3+, CD4+ cells and NK cells CD16+, CD56+ percentage change trend was no significant difference (P>0.05), T lymphocytes CD3 total marked decline after the first day of the two groups are in the third day of recovery preoperative levels. NK differences in the experimental group (P<0.05) the percentage of CD8 cells in the control group over time trends; After the first day, the third day after the two groups of patients to detect temperature, white blood cell count, lymphocyte percentage, percentage of monocytes, neutrophils percentage change contrast no significant difference (P> 0.05);After acupuncture treatment, the experimental group after three days VAS visual analog pain scores declined faster (P<0.05); the situation in the experimental group improved significantly in patients with thigh numbness (P<0.05); after acupuncture treatment, patients in the experimental group exhaust ahead of time (P<0.01).ConelusionIn this study we found that routine spinal surgery, acupuncture anesthesia-assisted spine surgery patients were failed to enhance the role of the immune function to resist the surgery. But patients’intraoperative blood pressure have a certain level of stability and they regained consciousness after the surgery faster. Postoperative recovery can help patients accelerate recovery of gastrointestinal function, improve the situation thigh numbness.
