Clinical Observation Of Vascular Dementia Patients In Kidney And Marrow Deficiency Syndrome By Bazhu Mixture Decoration

Purpose:To observe the clinical curative effect of Bazhu Mixture on vascular dementia patients in kidney and marrow deficiency syndrome. Observe the influence on fibrinogen and D-dimer lever in patients with vascular dementia who was given Bazhu Mixture,and evaluate the efficacy and safety.Method:A randomized controlled, Seventy vascular dementia patients who met the inclusion criteria from department of TCM and neurology in our hospital were randomly divided into treatment group and control group with 35 cases in each group according to the diagnosis of VDby 《Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of mental illness》 of America (DSM-IV,1994) and dementia standard in kidney and marrow deficiency syndrome edited by《Guidelines for clinical research of Chinese medicine drug)) in 2002.Treatment group was given Bazhu Mixture treatment which should be decoted in water for oral dose, one sachet once,twice daily. The control group was treated with Aricept therapy, once per day, one tablet each time. Both groups take continuous medication for 12 weeks. The TCM syndrome efficacy, cognitive function(mini-mental state examination, MMSE) and behavior ability (blessed dementia scale, Blessed)should be assessed after 12 weeks. Meanwhile Observe the Influence on fibrinogen and D-dimer lever in patients with vascular dementia who was given Bazhu Mixture.ResuIt:Bazhu Mixture and Aricept may significantly improve the MMSE、Blessed and TCM syndrome efficacy in patients with vascular dementia(P<0.01). The improvement of treatment group is level with that of control group in cognitive function and behavior ability. There was no significant difference of two groups in MMSE scale score and Blessed behavior scale after treatment (P>0.05). As for the TCM syndrome integral improvement, treatment group had superiority over control group, there was significant statistical difference (P＜0.05). As for the Influence on fibrinogen,there was no significant difference of two groups (P>0.05).As for the Influence on D-dimer lever, two groups were improved after the treatment (P＜0.01). Treatment group had superiority over control group. In the case of safety and adverse reaction, two groups of patients had no significant toxic and side effects and abnormal examination during treatment such as three conventional, liver and kidney function.Conclusion:The improvement of Bazhu mixture is level with that of Aricept in MMSE and Blessed. As for the TCM syndrome integral improvement, Bazhu mixture group had superiority over Aricept group. As for the Influence on fibrinogen,the effect of two groups is similar.As for the Influence on D-dimer lever, Bazhu mixture group had superiority over Aricept group. Therefore this research suggests that Bazhu mixture has good clinical curative effect in the treatment of vascular dementia, which contributes to the daily life and general cognitive ability improvement of patients.
