Objective: The aim of this paper was to test the level of the serum 25-hydroxy vitamin D(25-OH-D) in lupus nephritis(LN) and healthy subjects, and to analyze the correlation of the level of the serum 25-hydroxy vitamin D(25-OH-D), experiment index and the disease activity scores in lupus nephritis(LN),and explore the role of vitamin D in LN.Methods: To choose 40 LN patients who were fist diagnosed, and their score depend on SLE disease activity index to form 3 groups: Mild degree(11 case), moderate degree(13 case), and high degree(16 case). To choose 40 healthy subjects and their age, gender, Body Mass Index, the time of serum collection were matched the 40 LN patients. chemiluminescence was performed to test the serum 25(OH)D 1evel measurement in all LN patients and healthy subjects, tell the difference and the correlation of the level of the serum 25- hydroxy vitamin D(25-OH-D), experiment index and the disease activity scores in lupus nephritis(LN) were analyzed in SPSS13.0 statistical software.Results:1. The serum25(OH)D levels of patients with LN(14.71±6.90ng/ml) were significantly lower than NC(25.30±2.82ng/ml), P<0.05.2. The serum level of 25(OH)D was significant negative correlation with 24 hours urinary protein excretion, r=-0.55,p<0.05. The serum level of 25(OH)D in patients whose 24 hours urinary protein excretion more than 3g were lower than patients whose 24 hours urinary protein excretion less than3g,(the former was 11.32±2.61ng/ml, and the latter was 15.03±3.20ng/ml); The serum level of 25(OH)D was significant positive correlation with blood protein, r=0.86,p<0.05. The serum level of 25(OH)D in patients whose blood protein more than 35 g were higher than patients whose blood protein less than 35 g.(the former was 15.86±6.21ng/ml, and the latter was 13.64±7.56ng/ml).3. The serum level of 25(OH)D was significant negative correlation with anti-ds-DNA antibody(β=-0.25, P<0.05) and SLEDAI(β=0.29, p<0.05, and with the increase of disease activity in patients, 25(OH)D was gradually decreased), but was significant positive with C3(β=0.22, P<0.05) and C4(β=0.27, P<0.05).The serum level of 25(OH)D was no related with erythrocyte sedimentation rate(ESR) and C-reactive protein(P>0.05).Conclusion: The 25(OH)D may be very important in the pathogenesis of LN, Moved monitoring the serum level of 25(OH)D in the patients with LN could be helpful to monitor lupus activity, judge the severity of disease and choose the treatment protocols. |
