Objective:In patients with malignant tumor suicide rate is higher than the general population, the need for oncology nurses have the ability to assess the risk of such patients committing suicide, then take preventive measures to avoid the occurrence of hospitalized patients suicidal behavior. In this study, based on the current status of suicide related psychology of cancer patients in the hospital, helping nurses understand the current status of anxiety, depression, hopelessness of cancer patients, and the influence factors, guiding nurses when appear afore-mentioned symptoms in patients know that how to effectively prevent, in order to avoid cancer patients during hospitalization occur suicidal act.Methods:The research objects were selected who had malignant tumor and were treated in Guangxi Medical University Affiliated Tumor Hospital from November of 2013 to January of 2014 (the age of the objects is from 18 to 60). Using general information questionnaire, hospital anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS) and Beck Hopelessness Scale (BHS) for evaluating the degree of cancer patients’anxiety, depression, hopelessness and analysing the influence factors. After the questionnaire, check again, to establish a database of all the data of quantitative, statistical analysis were carried out by SPSS 19.0.Results:1. In all survey participants,172 patients (38.7%) had anxiety, 117 patients (26.3%) had depression,263 patients (59.1%) had different degrees of hopelessness, moderate and severe hopelessness had 85 people, accounting for 19.1% of the total number, the number of patients in despair or depression were different (P< 0.001), reaching 2.2 times.2. In all cancer patients, the aver-age scores of anxiety was 6.75±3.77, the average scores of depression was 5.25 ±3.83, the average scores of hopelessness was 5.22±3.93.3. Among the anxie-ty, depression, hopelessness were mutually positive correlation (all P< 0.001). 4. At the same time, anxiety, depression and desperation in 70 subjects,106 pati-ents existed 2 kinds of symptoms,132 patients existed only one kind of sympto-ms.5. The cultural degree and anxiety, depression, hopelessness were negatively related (all P< 0.001); The level of anxiety (P< 0.001) and depression (P=0.030) in female patients were higher than those in male patients; The level of depression and hopelessness in rural patients were higher than those in urban patients (both P< 0.001); In Rural patients, the level of anxiety (P=0.012) and depression (P= 0.014) in female were higher than those in male; In urban patien-ts, the level of anxiety (P=0.002) and hopelessness (P=0.030) in female were hi-gher than those in male; The level of hopelessness in Multiple hospitalized pati-ents was higher than that in first diagnosed patients (P= 0.014); Pay way can affect the level of patient’s depression and hopelessness (both P< 0.05); Breast cancer patients with anxiety (P=0.010), hopelessness (P=0.035) is higher than the average level, Patients with digestive tract tumor with anxiety is lower than the average level (P=0.007).6. The young and middle-aged groups had no diff-erence compared with the level of anxiety, depression, hopelessness (all P> 0.05). Then according to age, the patients were divided into three groups, under the age of 40 were a group, (40~49) years old were a group, (50~60) years old were a group, among three groups only anxiety differences (P=0.029), mainly in the anxiety level of patients aged (from 40 to 49) was higher than that of patients aged (from 50 to 60).Conclusions:1. In cancer patients, there were about 1/3 patients with anxi-ety, depression patients were the same, most cancer patients had varying degrees of hopelessness.2. When patients with any one of the anxiety, depression and hopelessness, he/she might exist at the same time the other one or two psycholo-gycal.3. Gender, culture degree, place of residence, course of disease, pay way, various types of cancer could affect the patient’s anxiety level, depression level and hopelessness level.4. Between young patients and middle-aged patients wi-th depression, hopelessness were no difference. The highest level of anxiety in (40~49) years old patients. The suicide related psychology and their influence factors should be attention by oncology health workers, take appropriate inter-vention measures on existing symptoms, reduce the psychological burden of patients, in order to avoid patients have the occurrence of suicide during hospitalization.
