Objective:To investigate the effects of rosuvastatin on left ventricular remodeling and heart function in elderly patients with chronic heart failure and atrial fibrillationents. Methods:Two hundred and twelve patients with chronic heart failure and atrial fibrillation were randomly divided into treatment group and control group, with 106 cases in each group. The two groups were given the routine cardiac diuretic therapy, treatment group was given rosuvastatin 10 mg once a night on the base of control group, control group received only routine treatment. Two groups were treated for 6 months. Evaluate two groups of clinical efficacy and the changes of TG, CHO, LDL. The relapse rate of paroxysmal atrial fibrillation and the incidence of transformation to persistent or permanent atrial fibrillation were observed. The 12-lead electrocardiogram, dynamic ECG (DCG), left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF), transthoracic color doppler echocardiography, the maximum diameter of the left ventricular end-diastolic, shortening fraction(Fs), diastolic peak E and peak A ratio (E/A) and 6-minute walk test (6 MWT) were examined to give a comprehensive evaluation of cardiac function improvement.Results:1 The total effective rate of treatment group and control group is respectively 88.68% and 74.53%, with a obvious higher total effective rate of treatment group than that of the control (P< 0.05).2 The recurrence rates of paroxysmal atrial fibrillation in treatment group and control group was 9.4% and 19.8%, with a lower recurrence rate of treatment group than that of the control group (P< 0.05).3 The rate of transformation to persistent or permanent atrial fibrillation of treatment group and control group was 5.7% and 10.4%, with a lower transformation rate in treatment group than that of the control group (P< 0.05).4 After treatment, LVEDd, LVFS, LVEF and E/A of the treatment group were lower than that of the control group (all P<0.05), TG, CHO, LDL levels of the treatment group were lower than that of the control group (all P<0.05), 6-min walking distance of the treatment group was more than that of the control group (P<0.05).Conclusions:Base on conventional treatment, rosuvastatin can improve left ventricular remodeling and cardiac function in elderly patients with chronic heart failure complicated and atrial fibrillation, and reduce the incidence of paroxysmal atrial fibrillation transforming to persistent or permanent atrial fibrillation.
