Objective: To get a better understanding of skeletal class Uygur and Han people â…¡different vertical facial types within each nation incisor region and ethnic differences in alveolar bone structure, the cephalometric study of skeletal class â…¡different vertical facial type incisor alveolar structure among 11 to 16 years old Uighur and Han people was done. It is a reference for the clinical skeletal class â…¡wrong occlusal abnormalities develop and implement treatment plans. It can also be seen as a theoretical basis and support for the prevention of iatrogenic bone windows, bone cracking and other adverse consequences of treatment occurrence. Method: According to inclusion and exclusion criteria, 60 cases of both Uighur and Han skeletal class malocclusion patients at the age â…¡of 11 to 16 years old. including 32 cases of Uighur men, 28 women, mean age 13.5 years; 29 males Han, 31 females were chosen. The average age is 13.1 years old. The two ethnic skeletal class malocclusion patients were grouped into highâ…¡-angle group, average-angle group and low-angle group according to the vertical facial type. After taking the skull radiographs, the related variables were measured by Adobe Photoshop cs7 image processing software. All of the craniofacial hard tissue landmarks were fixed and the measured experimental data is from the same period by one physician. After one or two weeks the same person continuously finished the measurement by re-set. The final experimental data was the average of three measurements. SPSS17.0 statistical software was used for sort and analysis. Result:(1) pair wise comparison results of skeletal class â…¡ Uygur and Han people of high-angle group, average-angle group and low-angle group: â‘  alveolar bone thickness: Han: UBP + ULP, LBP + LLP, UBP, UBM, LBP, LBM were different in all of the three groups(P<0.05); Uyghur: UBP + ULP, LBP + LLP, UBP, UBM, LBP, LBM were different in all of the three groups(P<0.05), â‘¡alveolar bone height: LBH were different in low-angle and high-angle group, low-angle and average-angle group of both Uighur and Han groups(P<0.05).(2) the comparison results of same vertical facial types between Uighur and Han groups: alveolar bone thickness: â‘ low-angle group: UBP,ULP, UBP + ULP, LLP, LBP, LBP + LLP there are differences(P<0.05); average-angle Group: UBP, ULP, LLP, LBP + LLP there are differences(P<0.05); high-angle group: ULP, LBM, LLP there are differences(P<0.05), â‘¡alveolar bone height: LBH there was a difference in the low-angle group and average-angle group(P<0.05), UBH there was a difference in the high-angle group(P<0.05);(3) correlation of Uighur and Han people alveolar bone thickness, height and incisor inclination: Han: ULP was negatively correlated with maxillary incisor inclination(r=-0.715), LBP was positively correlated with mandible incisor inclination(r=0.902);Uygur: ULP was negatively correlated with maxillary incisor inclination(r=-0.651), LBP was positively correlated with mandible incisor inclination(r=0.745). Conclusion:(1) the incisor alveolar thickness of 11 to 16 years old Uygur and Han skeletal class â…¡patients with different vertical facial showed that low-angle group was thickest and high-angle group was thinnest. The difference was statistically significant.(2) Mandible labial alveolar bone height in between two minority showed that low-angle group was the lowest and high-angle group was highest. The difference was statistically significant.(3) Thickness, height of the two nations have some differences in the same vertical facial skeletal types. The difference was statistically significant.(4) Maxillary incisors tip palatal alveolar bone thickness decreases with the increase of the inclination of maxillary incisor; Mandible apical labial alveolar bone thickness increases with the lower incisor inclination increases lip. In summary, The incisor alveolar of Uighur showed more thinner than Han. Clinically Uygur skeletal class â…¡ patients should consider this difference.
