Objective:to understand Yueyang county left-behind teenagers depressive symptoms and suicidal ideation happening.Method:extract Yueyang county of hunan province rural adolescents1936(age:11-19years), with simple questionnaire left-behind situation, for the epidemiological investigation depression scale (CES-D) survey depressive symptoms (total score20or more depressive symptoms), with the Beck Depression Inventory version2Chinese version (BDI-Ⅱ) item9suicide (a score of1or more) survey of suicidal ideation.Results:1. The situation of adolescent depression and suicidal ideation in Yueyang county:left-behind adolescents’ incidence was56.3%(n=1090);Left-behind teenagers the incidence of depression was40.0%;the incidence of suicide ideation was38.4%.2. The rear with the left-behind teenagers’ comparison of different demographic variable incidence of depressive symptoms:aged11to13left-behind teenagers’ incidence of depressive symptoms (34.4%)is higher than non left-behind teenagers (27.4%, P=0.036);poor family economic condition of left-behind teenagers incidence of depressive symptoms (51.3%) is higher than the same condition of left-behind teenagers (37.3%, P=0.007).3. There was no statistically significant difference in the left-behind teenagers’ incidence of suicidal ideation (P>0.05).4. The left-behind adolescents depression symptoms associated with demographic variables:left-behind age (beta=0.084, t=0.084, P=0.05), parents’ marital status (beta=0.065, t=0.065, P=0.032), family economic status (beta=0.13, t=0.13, P=0.00)Conclusion:left-behind adolescents depression and suicidal ideation is relatively common, by age, parents’ marital status and the influence of family economic condition.
