The incidence of the burnout among the healthcare industry is high. ThePsychiatric medical staffs especially are considered as a high morbidity of theoccupation burnout group. On account of the particularity of theirs’ service patients,and most of them suffer from different degrees mental or psychological illness, someof whom are poor insight, apathy and social function decline, some even have thepotential of the suicide and violent tendencies. Thus the psychiatric healthcare staffnot only needs to give patients emotional and living care, but also to undertake therisk of personal hurts from the patients. In additional, due to the characteristics of thepsychiatric specialist, psychiatric healthcare staff can’t get enough respect andrewards, which makes theirs’ sense of identity to the profession, self-efficacy andsubjective happiness relatively even lower lead to the occupation burnout of thepsychiatric health care staff. The research is aimed at the status of the psychiatricmedical staff’s burnout and the factors to help us to know how to prevent reduce andcontrol the occurrence of burnout. That will protect the psychiatric staff’s health, andimprove theirs’ efficiency, and increase theirs’ professional competence, and enhancethe overall quality of the mental health services and promote the social harmony andstability.【Objective】 Through the investigation of the occupation burnout among themedical staff in Changchun City to analysis the influencing factors of the occupationburnout, in order to provide the improvements measures to the occupation burnout ofthe medical staff in psychiatric department. 【Methods】 This study based on questionnaires for the information collecting.Adopted questionnaires Composed by four aspects, there are Basic personalinformation, Perceived Social Support Scale (PSSS) and Maslach BurnoutInventory-Human Service Survey (MBI-HSS). MBI-HSS used Ren Xia revisedChinese version with good reliability and validity.261questionnaires based on theCluster sampling method investigation are distributed to all the medical staff ofpsychiatric hospital in Changchun City,239of the questionnaires are valid. Study thedemographic variables influence on occupation burnout by Variance tests andLogistic tests.【Results】(1) The detection rate of occupation burnout of the medical staff inChangchun City was46.4%. The emotional exhaustion dimension rate was25.5%,and the depersonalization dimension rate was14.2%, and the achievementreduce dimension rate was21.8%among them.(2) The survey shows that the gender and the educational background are theinfluential factors of the occupation burnout, especially among the male samples,which higher compared to the female samples. The higher the education background,the easier comes out the infection of the occupation burnout. The professionaldirection and the management positions are the influencing factors of the emotionalexhaustion. Clinicians and the management layer are easy to performance theemotional exhaustion. Age, marital status, education background and official staff ornot are not the humane factors. In the group under the age of30, unmarried, notofficial staffs are more prone to show the humanity. Gender, education backgroundand management positions are the influencing factors of the accomplishment. Themale has low education level and those who aren’t on the management positionalways have lower accomplishment.(3) There is a significant difference between the staff with different education leveland different professional direction. Medical technician staffs have higher socialsupport with Bachelor and above. Social support has the negative correlations to theoccupation burnout in all dimensions. 【Conclusions】 The rate of the occupation burnout is high among the medical staffin a hospital in Changchun City. Gender and social support are influencing factorsof occupation burnout. Male, low and middle social support staffs tend to burnout.
