Objective:Compare the effect of two different methods of anesthesia and analgesia on cellular immune function in lung cancer surgery patients. Methods:Forty (40) patients underwent elective thoracotomy lung cancer surgery were randomly divided into two groups. Patients were implemented either total intravenous anesthesia combined with intravenous analgesia(group Ⅰ)or general anesthesia combined with epidural anesthesia and post-op epidural analgesia(groupⅡ).Changes of T cell subsets (CD3+、CD4+、CD8+、CD4+/CD8+) and NK cell function were compared within72h after surgery.Results:1.Except for the increase of CD8+(P<0.01), postoperative CD3+,CD4+and NK cell were decreased (P<0.05) in both groups.2.At72h after surgery, the changes were recovered to the pre-op level in group II but not in group Ⅰ3. There is a significant difference in CD3+、CD8+and CD4+/CD8+in the72h after the operation between group Ⅰ and group Ⅱ (P<0.05) Conclusion:The immune function after lung cancer surgery was less suppressed and recovered earlier in patients who had general anesthesia combined with epidural anesthesia and post-op epidural analgesia.
