PurposeThe purpose of this study was to evaluate the promotion of0.3%Sodium Hyluronate to the recovery of ocular surface function after Phacoemulcification. In this prospective randomized single blind study, the group added by0.3%Sodium Hyluronate was contrast with the control group, and the statistics was collected and integrated to provide a trend for the appropriate therapy of postoperative xerophthalmia.MethodWe picked up the patients who were diagnosed as simple age-related cataract and were going to get treatment of phaco+pc-IOL in our hospital, from June2014to January2015. The total38patients only received the operation of one eye, and kerotopathy, eyelid disease, glaucoma, uveitis, retinopathy, optic neuropathy, diabetes mellitus, thyroid disease, autoimmune disease and who used the medicine effected lacrimal secretion or tear film stability were all excluded. The patients were randomly divided into Group A and B, Group A were added by0.3%sodium hyluronate eye drops after operation, which was not used in Group B. The results of CFS, Schirmer test, TBUT, TMH were collected to evaluate the quality and stability of lacrimal film. We also used OSDI and subjective symptoms score of dry eye to get subject statistics. SPSS16.0was used to process the statistics.ResultTBUT:In Group B, no matter the statistics one week or one month after operation declined obviously, contrast to that before operation. However, all the statistics in Group A had no statistical difference between each other, and so did the statistics before or one week after operation in Group B compared with Group A. the data one month after operation in Group B had a difference from that of Group A.CFS:The preoperative score in Group A was higher than that in Group B, while the postoperative scores in these two group had no difference. In Group A, the data one month after operation decreased compared to that one week after operation. In Group B, the data of one week after operation elevated obviously compared to the preoperative one.Schirmer test&TMH:All the statistics in these two group had no difference no matter between or within the group.OSDI and Subjective symptoms score:the postoperative statistics got lower than preoperative ones, and P<0.05, but P>0.05for the data between the groups.ConclusionPhacoemulsification combined with intraocular lens implantation will affect the structure of tear film and ocular surface significantly. Accessory postoperative therapy with0.3%sodium hyaluronate eye drops can obviously enhance the tear film stability and promote the recovery of postoperative corneal epithelial, which plays a motivating role in helping ocular surface function to recover.
