Objective: To investigate the association between IL28 B gene rs12979860,rs8099917 polymorphisms and the hereditariness to nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD).Methods: IL28 B genotype of blood samples collecting 190 case patients with NAFLD and 310 healthy controls were analyzed by improved multiple high temperature ligase detection reaction technology(i MLDR). Distributions of the genotypes of these two polymorphisms were in accordance with the Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium in the NAFLD and control groups.Serum lipid profiles were determined using biochemical methods.We compared the differences of the clinical data between the NAFLD cases and healthy controls. And we also compared the diffrerences of genotype frequencies and allele frequencies between IL28 B rs12979860 and rs8099917. Statistical analysis was performed using statistical analysis package SPSS 17.0.Enumeration data applied ?2 test and measurement data applied t test.P <0.05 was considered as statistically meaningful criteria.Non-conditional logistic regression calculated the odds ration(OR) and 95% confidence interval(CI).Results: There was no differences of IL28 B gene rs12979860 and rs8099917 genotype frequencies and allele frequencies between the NAFLD cases and healthy controls. Compared with the most common genotype rs12979860 CC or rs 8099917 TT,the variants had not significantly increased the risk of NAFLD. The OR of NAFLD by multiple logistic regression analysis were 1.004[0.562-1.791] and 1.012[0.539-1.900] in carriers of the rs12979860 T and rs8099917 G variants,respectively(p> 0.05).Conclusion: The two poly morphisms of I L28 B gene are not assocait e with t he risk of NAFLD in Qingdao Han population.
