Objective:To Observe the clinical effect of Electroacupunture(EA) and a nalysis the mechanism of EA in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis (KOA).Methods:There are 12 cases of Knee osteoarthritis patients who got 20 days’ treatment. The treatment results would be assessed by WOMAC and V AS. Observe and compare the appraisal score and X-ray measurement before a nd after the treatments. The data was processed by SPSS 17.0 package.Result:The total effective rate was 83.3%. The therapy of EA reduced WOMAC scores, the comparison detected significant differences on WOMAC between pre-treatment and post-treatment (P<0.05). EA also change X-ray meas urement of biomechanics of knee that include tibial angle、femoral angle and joint gap angle.Tibial angles and femoral angles show there were no difference between pre-treatment and post-treatment (P>0.05), Scores of joint gap angles show there were differences (P<0.05)Conclusion:1.Treatment of EA significantly reduced joint pain, relieved joint stiffness and improve the function of knee joint.2. EA can influence biomechanics of knee (joint gap angles), which may be one of the mechanisms to treat KOA.
