Objectives In order to further clarify the positioning of related brain areas Relationship between depression and brain regions in patients with Liver-qi Depression of PMS. Reveal the The pathogenesis of liver failing to discharge to the typical diseases of Liver-qi Depression of PMS. To add new knowledge and provide new evidences for the theory of liver controlling the dispersion and accommodating the emotion..Methods Case group of PMS patients complyed with the American Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology(ACOG) international diagnostic criteria. Also they complyed with diagnostic criteria of Liver-qi Depression. The subjects fill out the self rating Depression Scale(SDS) in Premenstrual. The BOLD-functional magnetic resonance imaging(fMRI) was used in this research. Subjects of two groupes viewed pictures which induce depression and neutral pictures in functional magnetic resonance scanning process. SPM8 software and t test was used to analyse the fMRI data. Results The amounts of of premenstrual depression self rating scale(SDS) are 30(case group 15, control group 15). 30 copies of the BOLD- functional magnetic resonance imaging(fMRI) data. The SDS score and four factor score of case group and healthy control group by the independent samples T test, P was less than 0.001, the difference was significant. The BOLD- functional magnetic resonance imaging results are:In the task state, The case group’s enhanced brain activation in the negative emotional pictures tasts, Precentral_L(aal),Brodmann area 6, Insula_L(aal),Brodmann area 43. Frontal_Inf_Oper_R(aal)Case group enhanced brain areas activation compared with control group in task:Cerebelum_Crus1_R, Culmen, Cerebellum Anterior Lobe, Tuber, Cerebellar Tonsil. Case group decreased brain areas activation compared with control group in task: Frontal_Mid_R(aal), Brodmann area 10, Brodmann area 11, Rectus_L(aal), Rectus_R(aal), Brodmann area 47, Brodmann area 46, Brodmann area 32, Brodmann area 25, The resulting are: patients ‘ Enhanced activation brain regions is in the cerebellum. patients ‘weakening activation brain regions is The prefrontal cortex.Patients’ activation of ROI and score of SDS were tested by the SPSS19.0,Tt was showed that: Patients in the negative emotion stimulation, Frontal brain activation was statistically significant correlation between SDS scores and somatic symptoms scale(r=-0.4986,P< 0.05),There is a negative correlation between them. The control group in the negative emotion stimulation, Frontal brain activation was statistically significant correlation between SDS scores and somatic symptoms scale(r=0.3892,P< 0.05), There is a negative correlation between them. Conclusions 1.The mainly regulate brain regions of Liver-qi Depression of PMS are in the prefrontal cortex, Cerebellum. Revealing the Relative brain regions of liver regulating emotions are in the prefrontal cortex, cerebellum.2.The analysis results show that PMS of Liver-qi Depression patients with somatic disorder is closely related to the frontal lobe.
