| Objective:To investigate the clinical effect of Modified Nutrition Risk Screening2002(NRS2002) on guidance of the nutritional therapy in adult patients after burn injury.Methods:315burn patients, who were admitted in the department of Burn, Second affiliated hospital, school of medicine, Zhejiang university from2013Feb. to2014Feb. were respectively surveyed in this research. And then selecting70cases which all showed similar NRS2002scores were equal or greater than3, and write down their ageã€genderã€burn areaã€hospital staysã€the way of nutrition therapy and the clinical biochemical indicators of admission and discharge (hemoglobinã€total protein〠albuminã€blood sugar)Result:70patients scores are equal or greater than3according to the modified NRS2002,and there are51male and19female, the range of age is16~82(48.53±2.04) years old, the range of burn area is0.5%~99%[(47.86±2.90)%],with10death cases and13infective cases.65patients of total cases accepted nutritional therapy, nutrition support was92.86%,36patients accepte EN and29patients get EN and PN.The patients in EN and PN group showed severe condition after burn injury, with regard to larger burn area (62.24±4.60vs.39.72±2.09%, P<0.01), higher mortality (24.14vs5.56%, P<0.05) and ratio of infection (37.93vs.5.56%, P<0.01). After nutrition therapy, the survived cases expressed significant decreases on hemoglobin (Hb)(153.00±3.78vs.108.80±2.71g/L) and blood glucose(Glu)(9.01±0.44vs.5.94±0.32mmol/L), comparing with those of admission (P<0.01), in addition to increases on total protein (TP)(49.02±0.98vs.65.48±1.15U/L, P<0.01) and albumin (Alb)(27.82±0.67vs.32.35±0.82U/L, P<0.01).Conclusions:Modified NSR2002combine burn area and depth with NRS2002, so the tool would consider comprehensively that the influence of burn factors, both with the primary diseasesã€recent changes in body weightã€body mass index and the age on the nutritional status, so that assess the nutritional status for burn patients comprehensively, and then guide nutritional treatment and improve the prognosis of burn patients. |
