| Objective:C12orf48, a new gene that was recent discovered and studied in others types of cancers. But the expression of C12orf48in gastric cancer patients was not clear. The aim of this study was to evaluate the C12orf48expression in gastric cancer tissue and gastric cancer cell line. The relationship between C12orf48expression and the clinical pathology characteristics in gastric cancer was analyzed. Methods:The C12orf48expression level in gastric cell lines was analyzed by real-time PCR and western-blot. The C12orf48expression in the53tumor tissue and tissue adjacent to cancer was tested by immunohistochemical analysis. Results:C12orf48RNA copy number was relatively lower in the HGC cell line compared with AGS, KAT03, MGC, SGC7901others gastric cancer cell lines. But the protein expression in HGC was higher than other cell lines. In the results of immunohistochemistry, the positive rate was37.7%in gastric cancer which was lower than in tissue adjacent to cancer (77.4%)(P=0.00).Conclusion:Significant expression of C12orf48was observed in difference gastric cancer cell lines. The positive rate of C12orf48was relative high in normal gastric tissue of gastric patients compared with cancer tissue. But there was no association between C12orf48expression and clinical pathology characteristics such as tumor invasion depth, lymph node metastasis, TNM stage and tumor grade in gastric cancer patients. |
