| The Annotation of Shang Han Lun was written by Japanese writer Qian Tian Zong Bo and made up of six volumes. It is an annotated book on the Treatise on Febrile Diseases. This book has great values for studying the Treatise on Febrile Diseases in Japan Meiji period and typhoid academic thought of Asada’s. The thesis is using “the origin of academic and the reference of the examination of the chapter†method for research.It also makes a probe into the Asada’s life and works, the general background and reason of this book, the condition of emendation and annotation,and academic thought.According to the examining and arguments, the ancient of Asada’s was the saving Generals of Japan and the grandfather of Qian Tian Zong Bo practiced medicine. Asada’s inherited the family learning, mastered the Xiao-Xue knowledge(Subject of ancient Chinese study of phonology, philology and scholium) and Confucian physician. He prepared all of the versions at the time of wide collation, and used the four methods of emendation. The separate application of the methods or a combination was used for emendation and the multi-use of the four methods was the most common one. The annotations included: interpreting words and pharses, tagging pronunciation, explaining grammar, texts and so on. Influenced by the solitary card cannot stand principle of Qian-jia school in Qing Dynasty, he cited a broad range of information and expressed his opinions in this book. The annotation was characterized by its Scripture Interpreting Scriptures, data-rich quotation, distinguishing between different and similar syndromes, and supplement prescriptions. The academic features of The Annotation of Shang Han Lun can be reducible to seven aspects: awareness of the authenticity of the original contents; discrimination of “Chuan Jingâ€theory combining clinical; attention to Syndrome Differentiation of eight principals; emphasis on taking and boiling methods of Chinese prescriptions; enlarge the applying scope of classical prescription which contains clinical certification and interpretation of prescription application; and correcting the errors. By summarizing and refining the features of The Annotation of Shang Han Lun and Shanghan Sciences, it can benefit us to understand the Treatise on Febrile Diseases and provide reference for the classic medical annotation books. |
