Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy of the treatment on lumbosacral pain of AS by Baliao pionts with needle warming moxibustion compared with simple acupuncture. By comparing the difference between two groups, to screen the better solution to treat the lumbosacral pain of kidney yang-deficiency syndrome of AS so as to guide the clinical application. Methods: The study screened 60 patients with ankylosing spondylitis of kidney yang-deficiency syndrome, according to Doll’s Randomized clinical cases Table they were divided into two groups randomly, the observation group(Baliao points with needle warming moxibustion group) and control group(Baliao points with simple acupuncture group) which had 30 cases each. To record the changes of symptoms and signs before and after a course of treatment in order to evaluate the effect of two treatment schedules.Result:1. After treatment, there were significant differences in the scores of the lumbosacral pain symptom of both groups compared with themselves(P <0.01); And there was a significant difference compared with each other P = 0.033(P <0.05). It suggested that both therapies could significantly improve the lumbosacral pain of AS, and the analgesia effect of needle warming moxibustion was better.2. For both groups, compared with themselves, there were all significant differences for the indexes of "4" test, lumbosacral tender point and pelvis separation test(P <0.01). there was also a significant difference for finger-floor distance(P <0.05). Compared with each other, there was a significant difference for the index of lumbosacral tender point P = 0.03(P <0.05), suggesting that the two treatments could improve theses indexes effectively. However, the efficacy of needle warming moxibustion in improving the index of lumbosacral tenderness was more obvious.3. There were no significant differences in the syndromes efficacy for both groups P = 0.036(P <0.05), the total effective rate of the observation group was 96.7% which was higher than that of 80% in the control group. Conclusion: Both needle warming moxibustion and simple acupuncture for Baliao points can improve the lumbosacral pain of AS patients, and the clinical efficacy on the index of lumbosacral tender point with needle warming moxibustion is better than that with simple acupuncture, being worthy of clinical application.
