Target: In order to explore an optimal scheme to increase the curative effect and shorten the disease course of cervical spondylotic radiculopathy, this paper attempts to explore effects of “shuci”(one acupuncture skill)cervical Jiaji Points on EMG changes of cervical spondylotic radiculopathy, aims at providing objective clinical evidence for acupuncture treatment of nerve root type cervical spondylosis by comparing the curative effect of “shuci” with that of conventional acupuncture.Approach: 60 patients, who met the inclusion criteria of cervical spondylotic radiculopathy, were randomly divided into treatment group and control group, half and half. The treatment group took “shuci”, the one from five needling methods of Miraculous Pivot, while the control group adopted routine acupuncture treatment. 6 times of treatments were considered as a treatment course, two courses were supplied. F-wave conduction velocity and F wave occurrence rate were detected to assess the grade of disease before and after treatment.Result: The effective rate of treatment group is 96.15%, the control group is 88.00%. After treatment, the disease grade, pain score of VAS of two groups have decreased significantly, F-wave conduction velocity of the median nerve and ulnar nerve was increased with significant difference(P<0.05) compared with those before treatment. The improvement of the treatment group is obviously higher than that of the control group. Conclusion: Both of the therapies can eliminate or alleviate patients’ pain and numbness, promote repair of the injured nerve. On the clinical efficacy and the improvement of F wave, the treatment group is better than the control group.
