| Nowadays, Computer-aided orthodontics have got into rapid development period. Moreover, Invisalign is marching towards maturity stage, the whole process of Invisalign includes dento-maxillofacial information acquisition, dento-maxillofacial reconstruction, tooth segmentation and virtual occlusion and tooth movement and so on, then, it outputs treatment scheme and generates phased digital model of appliance according to the above scheme, in the end, rapid prototyping equipment will produce the corresponding fixed appliance or removable appliance. Among those steps, tooth segmentationã€virtual occlusion and tooth movement are the critical steps as they will impact the comprehensive treatment effect and time cost.At present, both of traditional orthodontics and Invisalign orthodontics are for the production of appliances, there still not be a common computer-aided system specially designed for occlusion analysis. Therefore, this article mainly studies how to develop digital analysis system, depending on the three critical technologies, tooth segmentation, occlusion collision detection and tooth movement.This article makes a detailed analysis and implementation of the above three critical technologies from the point of combining computer graphics and orthodontics. About tooth segmentation, we present a simple-to-use interactive segmentation method, compared with automatic segmentation method, the former has better versatility without considering the complex morphology of the tooth model surface. About occlusion collision detection, we use Rapid collision library to complete the basic realization of virtual occlusion collision detection between upper tooth and jaw tooth, providing the basis for tooth movement. About tooth movement, this paper analyzes the relationship of 3D coordinate of model vertices and implements the interactive movement, which can meet various need of clinical tooth movement, and extract and save the generating data in process. Finally, we use Qt interface library and OpenGL to develop the whole system proposed in this paper, relying on Vs2010 complier platform. Compared with foreign advanced technology, the newly started domestic computer-aided orthodontics has many shortcomings, therefore, our research work can provide certain basic research and practical simulation for domestic related development. |
