| Objectives To observe the inhibitory effect on candida albicans and the tensile strength of denture adhesive of a mixture which made of water-soluble chitosan and different kinds of traditional Chinese medicine composition, it can explore a new preparation which can combats the bacteria and being denture adhesive. It provide a experimental basis for people to develop a new denture adhesive.Methods 1 The preparation of water-soluble chitosan: mixture concentration of 2%(2mg) in chitosan add in 100 ml of distilled water solvent, in each, all needs to make a new solvent. 2 The preparation of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM): put 100 g traditional Chinese medicine respectively in 800 ml distilled water for half an hour, after keep the decoction micro boiling by Slow fire for 2 h, filter the decoction.Then boil the remain medicine with appropriate water for 1 h and filter it.Merge the two filtrates, concentrate and drie it, then mix the extract with Paris polyphylla to make the traditional Chinese medicine polyphylla chitosan mixture. Grouping is: the blank group(group A), the control group(group B), Paris polyphylla-chitosan group(group C), cortex phellodendri-chitosan group(group D), rhiaoma polygoni cuspidati-chitosan group(group E), radix scutellariaechitosan group(group F), cortex cinnamomi-chitosan group(group G), cortex dictanmnichitosan group(group H). 3 Measure the bacteriostatic test and determination of MIC values: Sabouraud agar medium disinfected in high temperature,when the temperature dropped to 45 ℃, took the Sabouraud agar medium mix with 1 ml candida albicans which has deliquate to 1×108 cfu/ml, and pour it into 9 cm inner diameter sterilization AGAR, to set. Under the the same concentration,Paris polyphylla’s inhibitory effect on candida albicans is better than cortex phellodendri,radix scutellariae,and the difference was statistically significant(F value were 244.351,71.978 and 244.351, P<0.05). The cortex phellodendri and radix scutellariae bacteriostatic effect is no statistical difference. Rhiaoma polygoni cuspidati, cortex cinnamomi and cortex dictanmni have no bacteriostasis to CA. 2 The MIC of Paris polyphylla is 1.563mg/ml. 3 The tensile bond strength value of Paris polyphylla-chitosan mixture at 0 h is greater than the Protefix denture adhesive, between the difference was statistically significant(t=5.777, P<0.05); After immersed in artificial saliva at 5 h, the maximum of tensile bond strength value of Paris polyphylla-chitosan mixture is greater than the maximum of Protefix denture adhesive values, between the difference was statistically significant(t=14.372, P<0.05); After immersed in artificial saliva at 12 h, the tensile bond strength value of Paris polyphylla-chitosan mixture is greater than the maximum of Protefix denture adhesive values,between the difference was statistically significant(t=3.673, P<0.05).
