Vacuum Sealing Drainage(VSD) first proposed by Dr. Wim Fleischmann in 1992 which is used for limb wound drainage has been widely utilized in soft tissue injury. It make soft tissue sticking together tightly which can increase vein turgidity, accellarate the speed of edema eliminating, stimulate tissue to generate more new vessels, augment wound growth factor, get rid of necrotic tissue, reduce the number of wound bacteria and facilitate wound healing.VSD treatment put negative pressure evenly distributing on wound tissues to create partial closed state assisted with vacuum which has been more and more accepted by clinical workers.Currently, the material of VSD is mainly Polyethylene alcohol hydrous alginate foam builting-in silicon gel drainage tube with multi-side holes and covering biological semi-permeable colloidal membrane which can provide negative pressure and create continuous efficient active drainage in wound tissues. It has been founded in clinical treatment that VSD can significant promote wound healing of bone exposure, but lacking of related researches about its mechanism and applied occasion or scope. To further investigate th88 treating effects of vacuum sealing drainage(VSD) on the treatment of bone exposure 88 healthy white New Zealand Rabbits were selected and divided into four groups with 22 in each one and then to establish the experimental animal modes. Group A:to establish a wound with 2cmin diameter with the periosteumin each rabbits’ cranium and to treat the rabbits with-120 mm Hg vacuum sealing drainage combined with the regular medication. Group B:the experimental animals’ mode was established by the same methods group Aand treated by the regular medication.Group C:To establish a wound with 2cmin diameter without the periosteumin each rabbits’ cranium and the treatment method was the same as group A. Group D:theexperimental animals’ mode was established by the same methods group C and the treatment method was the same as group B. Ten rabbits of each group were observed the healing rate and time of cranial bone exposure wound and the other ones were drawn materials at 3th, 7th, 10 th and 15 th day to proceed HE,Masson and immunohistochemical staining which can observe the situations of inflammatory cell infiltration, growth of granulation tissue and arrangement of new collage in wound.Result shows that the time of healing in group A was 19.40±1.65 days, group B was 24.00±2.31 days, group C was 25.40±4.43 daysandgroup D was 25.40±4.43 days. The comparison of experimental group and control group had statistical significance(P<0.05). VSD treatment can effectively shorten healing time and accelerate revascularization and collagen protein synthesis in rabbits cranial bone exposure wound.
