Objective Comparing the clinical application effects of the Pro Taper and TF(Twisted File) with two machines used nickel-titanium root canal reserve system in root canal preparation, thus provide the basis for the choice of instruments in clinical root canal preparation.Methods According to the order of patients, choosing 82 molar teeth for root canal therapy, which divided into two groups randomly(Group P and Group T).Preparing for the root canal by Pro Taper and TF machine used nickel titanium preparation system separately, but crown-down technique together, then filling them by warm gutta percha vertical compres sion technology.Measuring the root canal curvature of two groups separately, and recording the preparation time of single root canal, as well as the damage of instrument. Evaluating the effects of root canal preparation and filling according to the X ray before and after root canal therapy.Assessing toothache in three days after root canal preparation according to the postoperative return visit, comparing the preparation time of different curved root canal, postoperative pain reaction, root canal shaping effect, root canal filling effect and equipment damage. Using SPSS 17.0 software package for data statistical analysis and comparison.Results 1. Root canal preparation time:(1) Single root canal preparation time: Group P was(46.31±26.08) s, and Group T was(24.50±9.49) s, the difference of single tube prepar- ation time in two groups had statistical significance(t =-7.613, P <0.05).(2)The preparation time of Group P:taproot-tube was(39.65±23.08)s, moderately curved root canal was(46.77±28.07)s, severely curved root canal was(53.41±26.30)s; the preparation time of Group T:taproot-tube was(23.04±9.47)s, moderately curved root canal was(24.14±9.83)s, severely curved root canal was(28.49±8.15)s. The root canal preparation time of taproot-tube in two groups had statistical difference(t =3.980, P< 0.05); The root canal preparation time of moderately curved root canal in two groups had statistical significance(t =4.065, P< 0.05); The root canal preparation time of severely curved root canal in two groups had statistical difference(t =4.885, P < 0.05).2. Pain Evaluation: the teeth painless rate of Group P:the first day of 55%, 75% the next day, the third day of 92.5%;the teeth painless rate of Group T:64.2% on the first day, 78.5% the second day, 90.4% on the third day; the painless rate after root canal preparation of all the teeth in two groups : the first day of 71.95%, the next day of 76.83%, the third day of 91.46%.;the teeth painless rate from first day to third day of two groups and the total are rising. The difference of the pain reaction on first day after root canal preparation had no statistical significance(Z=-0.082, P>0.05);The difference on next day had no statistical significance(Z=-0.422, P>0.05); The difference on the third day had no statistical significance(Z=-0.326, P>0.05).3. Equipment damage during root canal preparation: the equipment damage rate of Group P: 6.38%; the equipment damage rate of Group T: 12.90%.The equipment damage during root canal preparation had no significantly statistical difference(?2=6.818, P>0.05).4. The formed effect of root canal preparation: the formed effect after root canal preparation of Group P and T had no significantly significantly difference(?2 =0.108, P> 0.05).5. The filling effect of root canal: the filling effect of root canal in Group P and T had no significantly significantly difference(?2 = 1.190, P> 0.05).Conclusion 1.During preparing for the root canal by Pro Taper And TF machine used nickel-titanium root canal preparation system, the file of TF spend less time in root canal preparation than Pro Taper.2. There are no differences between Pro Taper and TF machine used nickel-titanium root canal preparation system in the formed effect, the filling effect, the condition of pain and equipment damage.3. The root canal preparation time of the machine used nickel-titanium root canal preparation system of Pro Taper and TF increase with the rise of curvature.
