A Clinical Study: "Tuina Tong Zheng Li" Plus Kerotherapy For Lumbar Disc Her- Niation On Blood-stasis Migraine

Objective: To evaluate the immediate and long-term outcomes of "Tuina Tong Zheng Li" plus Kerotherapy and Acupuncture plus Kerotherapy through observing the clinical symptoms and life quality of the patients with lumbar disc herniation of blood-stasis type before and after treatment, so as to provide evidence for clinical application of "Tuina Tong Zheng Li" plus Kerotherapy for the treatment of lumbar disc herniation of blood-stasis type.Methods: 84 patients with lumbar disc herniation of blood-stasis type were randomly divided into two groups by using SPSS17.0 software based on the order numbers of admission. The 40 patients in treatment group were treated by "Tuina Tong Zheng Li" plus Kerotherapy, while 44 patients in control group were treated by Acupuncture plus Kerotherapy, and every patient would take 1 treatment course, in total of 10 days. And then evaluate the immediate and long-term outcomes of "Tuina Tong Zheng Li" plus Kerotherapy for lumbar disc herniation of blood-stasis type by analyzing and comparing modified ODI score of patients in two groups before and after treatment, and follow-up period.Results:(1) Comparison of clinical efficacy: The total effective rate of treatment group was 90%, while the control group with 86.4%, the effective percentage have no difference when compared between groups(P>0.05).(2) Comparison of ODI scores: The pretherapy ODI scores of each patient has a difference when compared with post-treatment in each group(P<0.05), and the difference of ODI scores was also extremely significant when compared pretherapy with follow-up period in each group(P<0.05). The post-treatment ODI scores, the difference of before and after ODI scores of each patient have no difference when compared between groups(P>0.05). However, the ODI scores of follow-up period has a very significant difference when compared between groups(P<0.05), while the difference of ODI scores of pretherapy and follow-up period was also different significantly when compared between groups(P<0.05).Conclusions:(1) Both "Tuina Tong Zheng Li" plus Kerotherapy and Acupuncture plus Kerotherapy have a significant efficacy for improving lumbocrural pain symptoms and life quality of the patients with lumbar disc herniation of blood-stasis type, meanwhile the long-term effect was certain. But the "Tuina Tong Zheng Li" plus Kerotherapy was better than Acupuncture plus Kerotherapy in the long-term effect.
