| 0bjective:To compare the different methods on left ventricular structure and function of New Zealand white rabbits with short-term chronic intermittent hypoxia by echocardiography.Methods:65 healthy male New Zealand rabbits were placed in the CIH capsule to establish the CIH model. To record left ventricular mass index(LVMI), relative wall thickness(RWT)and reality wall thickness((IVS+PWT) /2)of New Zealand rabbits before the CIH, to determine the critical value of the upper limit of normal based on the standard deviation. The New Zealand rabbits were divided into left ventricle geometry groups Based on the critical value Normal Geometry, NG; Concentric Remodeling, CR; Eccentric Hypertrophy, EH; Concentric Hypertrophy, CH, and left ventricular wall thickness group:left ventricular normal LVN; left ventricular thickening LVT. The left ventricular structure and function parameters were measured by echocardiography in CIH0Wã€2Wã€4Wã€6Wã€8W, the number of different group were records in each time. The structure and function of different groups were compared in 8W.Resluts :â‘ Compared with the CIH 0W, RWT thickening at 4W(P < 0.05); RWT thickening,LVMI and left ventricular wall thickness increased at 6W(P < 0.05); LVMI and left ventricular wall thickness increased, left ventricular enlargement at 8W(P < 0.05).â‘¡CIH8w, compared with LVT group, IVSd, LVPW, LVMI, LV diameter about left and right size decreases, RWT increases in CR group(P < 0.05), LVPWT decreased, RWT,LV diameter from top to bottom, LV diameter about left and right size decreases increased in EH group,(P < 0.05), RWT increased in CR group(P < 0.05);â‘¢CIH8w, compared withLVT group, Simpson EF(%), LVLW-Sm increased, IVCT shortened in CR group(P < 0.05),Simpson EF(%) decreased, IVCT increased in EH group(P < 0.05);â‘£CIH8W, compared with LVT group, Vp, IVS-Em decreased, IVRT increased in CH group(P < 0.05).Conclusions:â‘ The abnormal of left ventricular geometry appears earlier than the LVT, CR group appeared earlier obviously. â‘¡Left ventricular geometry is more relatively and globely in assessing left ventricular structure and function. |
