Objective:To explore the metabolomic changes of preeclampsia and identify the potential biomarkers of preeclampsia. To elucidate the potential etiology and pathology of preeclampsia and evaluate the potential of metabolomic method for preeclampsia diagnosis. Methods:Global maternal serum metabolomic finger print of preeclampsia patients (N=37)and uncomplicated pregnant women(N=21) were analysed base on ultra performance liquid chromatography quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry (UPLC/Q-TOF-MS) coupled with multivariate statistical analyses. Results:The serum metabolomic changes of preeclampsia is significant and sixteen biomarkers were identified. In addition, the metabolomic method has a 100%sensitivity,83.3%specificity and 94.1% accuracy in diagnosing peeclampsia. Conclusions:The serum metabolic fingerprint of preeclampsia is clearly different from normal pregnant women and the observed differences represent a potential to elucidate potential clues to etiology and pathogenesis. We established a new method with good ability for preeclampsia diagnosis.
