With today’s aging society continues to inensify,care for Long-term chronic disease and sudden illness burst into a major social problem. In the medical care system, heart rate, respiratory tate, body temperature three physiological parameters is mankind’s most important and basic vital signs. Patients were characterized by a number of life care are beneficial for them to take effective and timely medical treatment. But the accuracy of these medical monitoring equipment is relatively high, at the factory parameters are required for testing equipment. so as to achieve the required degree of precision. Along with electronics,embedded technology and advances in biomedical electronics, medical equipment detection technology has also been considerable development. Especially arbitrary waveform generator has become a modern test field one of the most widely used general-purpose instrument, represents the development direction detection signal source.Therefore,this article discusses the technology based on the use of DDS FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) devices designed to produce an analog ECG signal generation. Direct digital frequency synthesis (DDS) is an all-digital frequency synthesis technology, It is synthesized waveform look-up table method can generate arbitrary waveforms. This paper describes the theoretical analysis and waveform generator DDS background. According to the design requirements for the function of the division, The whole system is divided into a control module,peripheral hardware module, FPGA module is designed to achieve three parts. Then details were discussed were based on these three parts.In the course of the study, the design selected Altera’s chips EP2C8Q208C8 as the main chip generated waveform, Samsung’s selection of the control chip S3C2440 as the control chip. Difficulty of this design is the design of FPGA chip interface design and control chip. Large number of experiments carried out by this system and the actual measurement, the results show that the system can be more accurate output frequency range 20mhz-200hz sine wave, triangle wave,square wave,etc. The results thus obtained, the design achieves the intended purpose and requirements, and proved using the method of combining hardware and software, using FPGA technology to design and implement programs waveform generator is feasible.
