Part One:SGLT2 Inhibitors on improving insulin sensitivity and β cell functionSodium glucose cotransporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitors have been developed as a novel antihyperglycaemic agent. These drugs lower the plasma glucose concentration effectively independent of insulin action and insulin secretion. In addition, the current study have found that these drugs can improved insulin sensitivity and (3 cell function. The likely mechanisms underlying were the reversion of glucotoxicity, weight loss and the increased GLP-1 response, etc.Part Two:SGLT2 Inhibitors paly an important role in the protection of the diabetic nephropathyThe current studies have shown that SGLT2 inhibitor can effectively lower blood glucose. In addition, SGLT2 inhibitor play an important role in the protection of the diabetic nephropathy, mainly to reduce urinary protein, lower blood uric acid, improve renal histology and morphology, etc.The mechanism may be associated with its antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-fibrotic, improve renal hyperfiltration, lowering blood pressure, etc.
